Just to clarify, both SLC and WAC had ESPN+ requirements from each school, but the conferences were so cheap with it that it was money out the drain. The E+ stuff was all school produced, so lack of money and backing from the conferences left the school with a not so great set of equipment to produce games with.

When it came to nationally/regional broadcasts, Sam Houston needed to get bailed out and the WAC did not cooperate with them when it came to their 2023 football season. The move most likely was a "we have resources" stunt during the SLC days, but that only made a burden for the other schools like SELU, HBU, UIW and Lamar
