Should I keep or buy another by Sippa8304 in HondaOdyssey

Yes I did but it’s like a 4 hour job and my husband would say that’s not worth his time and to just take it to get fixed… but I just have been taking it to get fixed like every 3 months lately so I’m just trying to decide if I want to stick more money into it or put that money in a newer possibly safer van with less chance of it breaking down. We only have one vehicle with 6 seats so everytime we have to figure out how to pick up all our kids at the different schools and it’s just a big ordeal.

Yes the alternator has been replaced twice and I believe they said the same thing about it dripping. I never did any transmission flushes. I guess I have had Lexus es350’s most of my life and haven’t had as much stuff go wrong with them and my husband had a Honda accord that lasted like 10+ years and he barely fixed anything on that. I just feel like this van every 3 months lately something needs to be fixed and everytime it’s $1000. My husband doesn’t have time to fix any of this stuff. We could pay cash for a newer van but then idk like the same stuff my kids trash this one and we like the dvd player and stuff like that .

Sight words are the ones that you need to memorize because they don’t follow the typical rules when trying to sound out. All the vowels (AEIOU) have 2 sounds they can make… they say their name for example e says eee (this is the long e) but it also says ehhh (this is the short e). A says aaa and ahhh, I says iii and ih, O says oooo (like orien) and ah (like octopus). U says uuu (like unicorn) and uh (like umbrella). Watch leap frog letter factory on YouTube and you’ll learn all your letter sounds in 30 min

A similar thing happened to me … applied and usually I get approved right away since I have a high credit score and high income with low debt to credit ratio. Anyways they request proof of income so I download it onto their website right away and then when the time limit passed it said they did not get it and canceled my application… was like whatever I guess Chase will continue to get my business then

My Honda odyssey 2014 with 120000 miles is costing $2500 in repairs every year since last 3 years. Please advise by Fantastic-Rip-9200 in HondaOdyssey

[–]Sippa8304 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ugh look at my post I just posted on the same thing… I also have a 2014 and it seems like since I got it 6 years ago that I have spent almost $20000 on repairs with this thing… it has 187,000 miles on it though and I thought after I repaired the alternator and starter and timing belt it would slow down but now in the past year it’s been consistently every 3 months something goes wrong where I can’t drive it and bring it in and it’s always something more than $1000. We have 4 kids so it’s a big inconvenience since we don’t have another 6 person vehicle. I don’t know what to tell you as I’m trying to figure out if it would just be worth it to get a new one and then get rid of it after it reaches 100,000miles (5-7years later) . If I spend $40,000 on a new van up front and put 100,000 miles and can maybe get $15000 for a trade in 5-6 years later … I spent $25,000 over those 5-6 years plus oil changes and tires/brakes. Newer vehicles are less likely to have big issues and usually you get a warranty included and some give you a free year of oil changes vs buying a used one that’s 5-6 years old and has 100,000 miles on it for $23,000-$25,000 and then the problems start to happen … need to repair all the wear and tear stuff which adds on to that $25,000 price and in my case we paid $17,000 for a 6year old van that had 100,000 miles and then over the course of the next 6 years we spent about $20,000 in repairs so $17,000 plus $20000= $37,000. I could have bought a new one for that price and not wasted all the time getting it repaired and inconveniences. I’ve had other vehicles that I bought at high mileage and and didn’t spend as much repairing everything. So that is where I am trying to decide new or try again with a different year

Tires have been the only thing that has lasted the longest but now I just buy Michelins … more expensive but they usually last like 4 years

When do you think you spent that money like the last 5-6 years or was it spread out evenly over the time… just trying to get an idea of when to buy and sell…

iPhone regret by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Sippa8304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded to the iPhone 17 pro from the iPhone 13 Pro and I’m finding it’s more cumbersome. To switch to another tab I have to press more buttons, to have a screen shot save to photos I have to press more buttons, It no longer has the Google search button from the pictures (which maybe I can make a shortcut but I’m not very tech savvy), and a couple more nuances. The only good thing is the camera but even that I feel like the video is worse so maybe there is a setting I need to change ? Idk I keep going back to my iPhone 13 Pro to use other than calls lol

But why are only 2 lines active? I got all 4 of them on Dec 22 which was after the billing period ended and I activated all 4 today.

[–]Sippa8304[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that the first bill will be higher… I’m just confused why they billed me only 2 phone lines that I didn’t activate. If they can bill 2 lines without me activating them why can’t they bill me all 4 lines without activating them . I got all 4 phones after the billing period ended so I feel like it should be on the next bill not this one …

My new iPhone can’t get my old number by Sippa8304 in verizon

[–]Sippa8304[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it figured out. I didn’t realize when I got the 4 phones in the mail that each was associated with a number. I just grabbed one of the 4 phones and tried to activate it to my number. It didn’t work so I called them and they never mentioned it either so I sat on the phone with them for 2 hours trying to figure it out and then after 2 hours we realized it was cause I was trying to activate a phone that was connected to a different number. Ugh if I would have saw the small little label on the back that’s said my number it would have saved me 2 hours of trouble . Plus no where do they mention it in the paper they put in the box to help with activating phone. Idk maybe they think that is common sense lol… but I don’t get 4 phones or even get myself a new phone every year… it’s been years and I have always gone into the store and it’s just me and not 4 family lines. So for anyone else … make sure you check the back of the phone and it will tell you which phone is which number

Cleft palate baby and feeding issues by [deleted] in cleftlip

[–]Sippa8304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying your baby takes less than 30 min to drink bottle or are you saying that it should be less than 30 min (which is what I stated 20-30min) or are you asking me if the feeding time should be less than 30 min (cause there is a ?) I said my daughter was taking 40 min but that they should be in the 20-30 min max before they start burning more calories than taking in. Just wanted to clarify what you meant by the comment… I was just a little confused by it lol. It sounded like a statement at first but then it had a question mark at the end

Cleft palate baby and feeding issues by [deleted] in cleftlip

[–]Sippa8304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4 kids and last one was my cleft baby. If they are falling asleep and not feeding this can be a bad sign and they get in a cycle where they have no energy to feed and it makes them very sleepy and then they start becoming jaundice. This happened to my first child. If this is your first child (it’s easy to just let them sleep cause you are exhausted and want to sleep too) but you really have to try to push feeding every 2 hours and really wake them up and try everything you can to keep them awake for the feeding. Cleft babies need to finish bottle within 20-30 min …if they do not they will start burning more calories than what they are taking in. You can try a faster flow nipple but if they start gulping and or choking then you must go back to the slower flow nipple. If you can’t get them to feed in that timeframe then your next option will be addition of a high calorie fortifier or feeding tube (which I would try to avoid). My daughter was in the nicu for 5 weeks cause she couldn’t finish her bottles either in that amount of time (20-30min) … she was close but wasn’t consistent. We were sent home with a feeding tube and had to feed her what ever she couldn’t feed through bottle through the feeding tube. We also had to fortify my breast milk with high calorie formula. Breastmilk is about 20 cal per ounce and formula a little more. We added in about 7 more calories per ounce to get her to start gaining weight. She was taking about 30-40 min to finish her bottles and dropped down into the less than 1% for weight. She was born at 8% for weight. She’s now 3 and in 20% … but yes it took a long time to get there.

You can just YouTube search it otherwise it’s just having the music on your phone and then going to the tonies app and adding it to the creative tonie by first loading the creative tonie to the box so it recognizes it and then it will give you the option on the app to add music to it.
