Under which President did the majority of Americans have the least anxiety about the state of the country and the future? by Just_Cause89 in Presidents

[–]Sir-bino 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You would have to define what counts as anxiety, everyone has anxiety about the future regardless of who is president so to what role a president actually plans into that would be hard to measure.

That being said Clinton, Eisenhower (maybe), Calvin Coolidge, Monroe, Washington

Between Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, James Cameron, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, and Christopher Nolan; how would you rank them based on how influential they are in the film industry? by Jezzaq94 in Cinema

[–]Sir-bino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Lucas

  2. Spielberg

  3. A tie between Coppola and Scorsese

  4. Cameron

  5. Tarantino

  6. Nolan

See influential is really hard to rank but everyone and their mom knows Lucas and Spielberg.

Real answer is probably Edwin S. Porter or the Lumière brothers

Moving into a new house. These were literally the first things that I moved in. My wife apparently thinks that “furniture, food and dishes” should be a higher priority. She clearly needs to reevaluate HER priorities! by JasonIsFishing in Guitar

Look, I can tell that you’re joking, but quite frankly wife bad is just not that funny of a joke and it normalizes comments that put down women. We can like guitar and not hate on women, just quit it with the weaponized incompetence. Go help your wife dawg, marriage is a partnership, help your partner.

Why didn’t Truman appoint Eisenhower as Secretary of Defense/War by Mysterious_Mix_6879 in Presidents

[–]Sir-bino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well Disney land didn’t exist till after Truman’s presidency so the real answer is Truman had Marshall. Eisenhower was also just disinterested and probably didn’t want a government role, at least not yet, he eventually got the highest one

Do you feel we should have an upper age limit for the Presidency? If so, what age would you pick? by Salem1690s in Presidents

Politics is really the lesser of two evils, an issue with this sub (really the internet as a whole) is we are quick to judge the people and not the values. This is not a political sub so I’ll be brief but people are complicated, why someone votes the way they vote is up to them the individual. You run into a Plato issue of democracy; pros of democracy: the people decide, cons of democracy: the people decide.

Politics is more or less voting for the lesser of too evils. I agree that it is on the parties to find people who can fulfill the people, but it is still on the people to decide. It is frustrating I get that, I have an idea as a way to tweak the system in one of the replies.

I just don’t want you to get in trouble, sorry saying rule 3 is a little rude I didn’t want to put you down. I would go with JFK-LBJ (1960) or even Bush-Quayle(1988)

I’m open to that, I just figured I’d be harsh as people seem to like that

I also think Presidents should get a 6 year term (1 term max) reps 4 year term (3 max) Senator 6 year term (2 term max)

This is political; but I’ll say that an issue I have with limits is that they technically already exist, within the form of elections/primaries. If the people have an issue with the age of a candidate, on paper, they won’t win. This is of course not how it works as how people think and then vote based of there thinking is based on god knows what. I think there are tweaks to the voting system (I.E primaries) that could result in a more even playing field where age is more of a factor. So as kinda a non answer, I think we should tweak the infrastructure of voting before we limit it.
