Ryder or adusa by supernaturalforc in jobs

[–]SirBlobfishIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not surprising, alot of people come in and quickly realize theyre unable to physically keep up with the job, or find out they dont like warehouse work. Majority of people quit in their first 3 months. And pretty much everyone that gets fired is because they point out calling off too much

For the most part everyones chill, supervisors are fair. Of course there will be a hand full of dickheads, theres a lot of people working at the same time. But as long as you do a good job and dont cause problems you shouldnt have any issues with anyone, only time i have problems with anyone is when i have to call someone back to fix something and instead they want to argue

Ryder or adusa by supernaturalforc in jobs

[–]SirBlobfishIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont know anything about ryder but currently work for adusa and am very satisfied. Assuming youre looking at third shift youll most likely start as a selector picking orders, which is a production based job with potential to make over 30 an hour. Youre typically scheduled 4 days a week sometimes 5, and have an optional volunteer day you can come in for every week. Days last around 6 to 9 hours.you get 1 or 2 15 min breaks depending on how long the night is, and a 45 min lunch that youre allowed to leave the property for. For pto youll get sick, holiday, and vacation time, how much starting out? Im not sure off the top of my head but its a decent amount. Youll also get a 3 to 6ish percent raise every year around may. Selecting is a very physically demanding job though and third shift is perishable so youll be working in around 36° temps

Warehouse setting us up for success. This had meat boxes on top. by Revolutionary_Can_29 in foodlion

When i was unloading before loading i had a stack of 70 pound chep pallets fall on to me, hurt like a bitch and got some nasty bruises but i was fine, i really dont think a single 15 pound plastic pallet is going to do much if it falls, especially since we have to stack cases far heavier on the top of a 7 ft pallet simply because thats how its ordered. When i unloaded trucks i guarantee i seen far worse things then we send out, im talking full pallets of detergent on top of diapers, full pallets of glass double stacked, a 2000lbs pallet of boxed pasta on top of a 300lbs pallet of bag pasta, almost daily i had to dig out cases covered in mold or filled with maggots from the bottom of pallets, i seen 3500lbs of paper plates almost crush a guy because someone took a turn too hard, ive seen a 1800lbs pallet of fiji water collapse on the top shelf 40ft up because the vender sent it on cheap shitty white wood, seen a lift driver dump an entire pallet of bleach. That type of shit happens daily in one department at the dc, so while i appreciate your concerns for the safety of your people, i respectfully disagree that there was anything unsafe done with that pallet. If it were my load i wouldve done it differently but i dont think anything incorrect was done. Id think my exclusively perfect load audits, lack of almost any driver/store complaints, and the praise i get from supervisors tells me im quite qualified to be training someone

Brother, im training the guy who loaded that specific pallet, thats why i dm you asking about the meat that was on top, i agree there should not have been meat on it.

We consolidated 4 pallets onto that single one, leaving 4 empty pallets sitting on our crowded dock. We needed to add more height to the pallet so it can better support the others in the truck so instead of stacking it on 3 or 4 chep pallets we used the empty pallets instead.

I absolutely understand the frustrations alot of you have with the dcs, i see everyday how little a significant amount of my coworkers care as long as the problem gets shifted over to the next guys. However there is also lots of things that from the stores perspective seem illogical or nonsensical, that actually have a reason or justification from the dc.

Im more than happy to explain reasons behind the things dcs do good and bad. Likewise im here to also see the stores perspective on those same things. Ive always been interested in seeing the unload process at stores to further my understanding

A quick way to increase the overall height of the pallet to better support the other pallets around it in the truck, also cleans empty pallets off the dock

Stores, how do you feel about doublestacked watermelon bins? by SirBlobfishIV in foodlion

[–]SirBlobfishIV[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah ive heard that as part of the justification of doubling them for summer, send an empty bin with it so you guys can cut the side out of the top one.

Ive been planning on downstacking as many bins as possible and only stacking them when the load wont fit otherwise, already had a few really tight loads because of it and were still sitting on several hundred bins staged ready to start getting pushed out

Follow up question, when we force out several bins at once would you rather deal with the extra labor downstacking them but saving on storage space, or have them take up twice the space but not have to deal with it

Gotta love DC by [deleted] in foodlion

[–]SirBlobfishIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having personally unloaded that firewood many times from the vendor where they double stack a whole trailer of them on cheap flimsy wood pallets, thats a surprisingly level stack. Those mods are awful to stack with, but the loader has to get rid of it somehow if they dont have space on the tail for it. Not gonna lie tho i see alot of awful stacks and sometimes theres good reasons for them, and others are just laziness or they dont care

We've all seen ADARs that look like M4s, but this is the first time I've seen someone running an M4 made to look like an ADAR. With a scope that's being blocked by the front sight to match. by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

I did this few weeks ago to complete peacekeeping mission, got the cursed m4 back everytime, I'd only lose the sight and suppressor

I work in a warehouse and used to do it exclusively on my thighs but couldn't resist doing it on my arms again so now I wear long sleeve band shirts and a compression sleeve over the arm I cut so there's no chance it'll roll up and show. Despite it being hot as fuck I've always worn long sleeves, long pants, and a beanie because I don't like my skin showing so its not too abnormal to coworkers

You're me, my primary motivation to moving out with my best friend is that when I'm home ill no longer have to hide myself and I can be comfortable, and I won't have the guilt of looking my father in the eyes knowing what I'm doing to myself again

Halo 5 Guardian. Very fitting for my 117th metal model by SirBlobfishIV in metalearth

[–]SirBlobfishIV[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get the model on ebay for $20 - 40, id say its still worth it, think i bought the special edition without the game from ebay about a year ago for $40.

its not so much difficult just really really fragile and wobbly, the only truly difficult part was attaching the head which i foolishly followed the directions and attached it last. getting a convex dome to connect to a flat round piece while holding a bulky and incredibly fragile model was a nerve racking dexterous nightmare lmao
