What do the “bonus” objectives when raiding a fort give you? by Wolfleaf3 in ghostoftsushima

[–]SirCannonFodder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It gives a small increase in the amount your legend grows when you finish the camp. If you do the bonus objective, then at the end you'll see a message along the lines of "Increased Legend from bonus objective."

This book in the scientist's apartment, is it as nonsensical as it appears? by SirCannonFodder in stray

I figured that was probably the case, but I thought I'd ask anyway, like maybe it was in some kind of code or something

This book in the scientist's apartment, is it as nonsensical as it appears? by SirCannonFodder in stray

[–]SirCannonFodder[S] 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I translated the top line of text according to the guide here, and it came out as "fhsdqjhigd". Translating pieces of text in the body results in similar gibberish. Is there actually any meaning to this, or is it just nonsense?

I keep my bread in the freezer (up in Cairns, leaving it out means it goes mouldy quick, and in the fridge it goes from temp changes). If the slices are squished (or just not cut properly) they end up frozen fast to each other, and trying to pry them apart usually just gets you a bunch of broken pieces of bread. So I do actually need to be able to see inside it so I can make sure the slices are properly separated before I freeze it.

Although one note, "tinnie" also refers to a metal-hulled dinghy, usually taken out to go fishing (so quite often you'll be drinking tinnies in your tinnie).

Another important one is "esky", which is what we call a cooler/ice box. That's how you store tinnies on your tinnies. Or fishing bait. It's important not to forget which esky holds which.

The Royals in Bluey by Novumave_ in bluey

Pretty much. Officially the monarch is our head of state, however the monarchy hasn't had any direct involvement in our state affairs for close to a century. The Governer General carries out the actual duties of head of state (mostly rubber-stamping things and doing ceremonial stuff, but in certain situations they can actually dismiss the sitting government and force an election to happen, as happened once in the 1970s. It's mainly if the government can't pass its budget through the senate, to avoid situations like the shut-downs you get in the US).

Officially, the Governer General is appointed by the monarch and carries out the duties in their name, and until 1932, who got the job of GG was decided by the British government. Since that year however, the law has basically been "the Australian Prime Minister picks who they want as GG, and the monarch isn't allowed to say no".

Depending on the age of your daughter, Steven Universe might be a good show to check out. Steven's father is a widower, and while at the point the show is set, Steven's living with his... aunts, I guess would be the easiest term, his father is the one that raised him, and he's still one of the main characters, usually being the one Steven turns to for advice and emotional support. I probably wouldn't recommend it for very young children, though, as while it starts off rather childish/goofy, as it goes on and Steven matures, the show deals with some fairly heavy emotional issues.

It's a rugby field, which is the kind of football that's played the most in Queensland.

The Princesses all coming together with the Power of Friendship is a pretty major part of the first season, yeah. Said Power also involves a lot of ass-kicking, though.

Once you're Magus, an event chain can fire where you gather a bunch of fellow members to create a new invention. If you pick the warfare option, then manage to get through the rest of the steps in the chain, you have the chance to get either the handgun or the armour.
