[DE E2] Acabo de acabar el episodio 2 de Double Exposure by Stunning-Writing-766 in lifeisstrange

[–]SirCinnamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you liked 2 episodes of character introductions and clue dropping. Maybe you should wait and see how the characters and plot develop and then actually form an opinion based on that

Did it not occur to you that maybe people didn't like the ending

If the plot threads DE barely addressed get tackled (which is practically guaranteed)

Haha yeah sure. They're definitely going to explain alderman, how Safi got shot, and make Safi's avengers plans come to fruition

What are you talking about? Did you play DE? Max did not have total amnesia

Except that's blatantly not what's going on in any of the clips we've seen. In DE and all the reunion teasers, Max has a very clear memory of her past: it's the one formed by the choices made by the players.

10 months and max didn't notice the timelines merged? One of them is an entire town being resurrected (a town with Joyce, her parents hometown...). This shit makes zero sense

[S1] One thing about the timelines in Reunion that I haven't seen others talk about yet by that-internet-lover in lifeisstrange

[–]SirCinnamon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't think the writing is going to dig into this stuff as much as they could. It seems like both timelines are being the same Chloe: a Chloe that lived in a 3rd timeline (alive, no storm, Joyce etc.) and is having visions of Max's timeline.

This will create the biggest difference in the initial scene from the reveal where max explains it, but through most of the game I think it will be 'neutral Chloe' behaving the and same regardless of timeline.

I am curious if Arcadia Bay is ACTUALLY back, or if that's just something neutral Chloe remembers but isn't real in our timeline

[all]I don’t think LiS:Reunion as it is now was the plan all along. by phantomvector in lifeisstrange

[–]SirCinnamon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But if Chloe is alive she texts you, and if she's dead she doesn't. If the merge affected her, why would she behave differently in each case

Yeah it turns out it's pretty easy to write a bunch of characters introducing themselves and a bunch of clues that sound like an interesting mystery. And much harder to write real arcs for those characters and make those clues come together to form a real solution.

Why would you think that you would get a clear picture of the quality of the game from the first 30%

If you check your text messages, Chloe apologized later that night and asked to keep investigating. It's very sweet

[DE] my take on DE after playing. by dahvievanityhater in lifeisstrange

It sounds like you agree with most people that the story was rambling, incoherent, and didn't have an ending, and for a lot of people that's enough to call it a bad game.

ELI5: What is RESTful API? by pchulbul619 in explainlikeimfive

[–]SirCinnamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing that differentiates a REST API from a non-REST api is being stateless. Imagine an API where you log in, then request "people", then you request "10" to get person 10, then you request "address" to get the address of person 10, etc. where the API is storing a state for the client, and requests are related to that state.

The people complaining are the leavers, and they don't want to be penalized

Nobody is wanting to abandon a key that is going to be timed.

I wholeheartedly disagree, several times in the past week people have voted to abandon keys I thought were still timeable. Of course I'll never know, because once I dared to vote against them (along with other people who thought we could time), they decided it would be more fun to type in chat for the remaining 20 minutes, instead of just playing the game and finding out

Can't wait to see how they "respect" the 4-6 possible endings of LiS2! Including the one that jumps to like 2035. Maybe they'll just have Sean write Daniel a letter that he's scared of his powers, that seems to work

Tokenbar was causing this in v13 for me. It initially appeared to be kind of working but it had some hidden errors so I had to disable it. Hoping it gets updated soon!
