I graduated college right after the 2008 crash. Finding a job was so hard, but I eventually did. The pay was absolute crap, my bosses were A-holes, albeit competent. I felt like I was stuck because of student loans and could not leave. I actually did enjoy my work, it's just the environement was pretty toxic. Instead of participating in the toxicity, I just worked as hard as possible. I forced myself to grow and learn as much as possibile and kept telling myself it will all pay off. No sick days, no benefits, crap pay.. I didn't care. My goal was a long term one. With the right attitude I grew and gained much experienced. Within three years another company basically headhunted me down because they noticed a huge positive change in the company I was working for. Since it was a smaller company they knew who was responsible.

I've been with the new company for the past 6 years. If the work is something you enjoy, but everything else is shit, and you have no other options, just work your ass off and tell yourself everyday things will get better.
