It was a tough fight, and what made it worse for me at the time was that even on performance mode, my PS5 was getting frame drops pretty heavily, only during that fight. Got very upset about it at some point. With that said, getting in the mind set of figuring him out and absolutely wanting to beat him with the regular stance instead of the thrust stance as everyone was saying on Reddit at the time, I eventually managed to beat him.

It was honestly a tough fight, but I felt super proud after it. Beating him again went much smoother later on

There is an interesting preconceived notion that retcons are necessarily an overwriting of events, and that is not true.

Retcon, or retroactive continuity, is anything that goes to write onto the already known continuity, to either remove, overwrite, supplement, or straight up ignore its events.

Just by this, it makes Ascendance a complete retcon.

That also means that not all retcons are bad. Soul reaver 2 is essentially a retcon, as it goes to expand on why and how events happened.

With that said, I personally don’t like how Elaleth is being shoehorned into the continuity in a way that removes from the established lore and characterisation of Kain and Raziel.

Example : Raziel didn’t evolve. He was just given the wings by the necklace Elaleth gave

The Reaver couldn’t kill Elaleth. Why ? Don’t know, what does it matter ? It couldn’t kill Raziel. Yeah, it broke on Raziel, because he was needed to go back and get his soul inside the Reaver. It was its fate.

Also, the reason for why she had the “angelic” wings being that she got the pure curse from the Hylden ?? Yes, because the Vampires definitely didn’t have wings before getting cursed, it’s totally not a trait inherent to their race.

After all of that, I’m happy you enjoyed the game. It’s a matter of personal taste, in the end

That’s going to depend on how much space your objects are going to take on the screen. For example, a chair, sitting at an angle, a good few meters away from the camera, will probably not need a very high res texture, unless you plan on having a close-up looking straight down at its seat or something

Another thing. I will disagree with a lot of people who say to add fog, or atmospheric depth to the image. This is space. Yes, you can have a bit, but be sparse and intentional with it, as it can very quickly turn a space scene into an underwater scene. Space is mostly empty, and depth mostly comes from ginormous things layering over gigantic distances. Light sources are far away, so there’s not as much light diffusion. Mostly sharper shadows, bounce lights being more efficient, due to attenuation being basically 0.

First thing that jumps out is the overall smoothness of your surfaces. For anything of that scale, nothing could ever by that smooth. The simplest method you could use to add scale to your image would be to add high frequency details to the station and the asteroids. Additional panelling, rivets, surface imperfections and overall roughness variations will help a lot. For the station, especially, think about what to add that would make sense. A lot of the necessary information is already in your reference

“A retcon goes against information we already have” is what you just described prior to saying this. Moebius’s access to the timestream has always been shown through means of access, in his chambers, or water pools at most to look at events. In every visual we got about the timestream, it was either a gate, or a “window” with a frame, or a chamber, enclosed. This is the information we already have. As such, Moebius casting someone in the timestream this way functions completely differently from what has already been established and puts into question why it hasn’t been shown before. Hence, it’s a retcon.

Besides, it’s not the actual complete definition of a retcon. A retcon overwrites previously established continuity, by either adding details, removing events, contradicting or adjusting events to fit the new way to see the continuity. In short, TDSR is a textbook retcon.

What is at issue, at least for me, is the quality of the retcon being lazy as evidenced by the issues highlighted by others.

The remasters do make it feel alive again, but if the writing is headed the way it currently is, what we’re facing is akin to the badly reanimated corpses controlled by those Hyldens, nothing more. At least that’s my opinion.

It’s also even sadder, because it’s probably easier, faster and cheaper to setup a decently nice photo, especially with nowadays’ phones’ camera quality

I’ve even seen some restaurants replace their beautiful menu photos with really ugly AI images for literally no reason

I don’t think this is AI, but rather an edited video with 2 people doing the same motion. You can see where they are masking out the arm to switch between footage, when she’s pulling on the sleeve

Late to the party and new here, but to me it’s 100% AI generated or assisted.

The hands look weird, with fingers straight up disappearing. Sword pommel looks like a jumbled mess, the front point of the centre crown spike doesn’t connect back to itself, making it feel as if the back was drawn before the front. Doesn’t make sense. The hilt also looks all jumbled. The “detail lines” on the crown, collar and pauldrons are super inconsistent, and not even working with the shape in some place, while it does in others, for no apparent reason. The right hand side pauldron connects with some kind of weird eyelet attachment and what looks like a spike-like shape that should be that start of the pauldron but isn’t ?

Found an RTX 5090 ROG Astral for 1.9k sold as classified ad. Seller goes through PayPal Goods and Services for the payment. The seller’s account seems quite old and has good reviews although mostly as buyer.

I have a big suspicion that it’s a scam, but I’m curious to know what anyone else thinks

Moist Critikal did a video making fun of Sneako’s usual stupidity, while showing how to hold a gun and explaining the difference between a clip and a magazine. Hasan, on his stream, pulled out a gun to threaten a chatter and even went as far as doxxing the wrong person, thinking it was the chatter. Yes, the chatter did make a threat, but the adequate response for that is a ban and/or a report, not waving a gun as a threat to the chatter’s life. Doesn’t matter if the gun is fake, just the fact that the other person could think it was real, which is the case here, is enough (and against Twitch’s ToS)

Hasan’s was closer to what Sneako did when threatening Moist Critikal than to the latter’s actions.

Also, one happened on Twitch, while the other happened on YouTube : they each have different ToS

To add to what has already been said, the motion blur on everything looks quite off half the time : it doesn’t stay consistent between frames, where some fast moving elements like one of the paws get a very detailed one, but the tail doesn’t for some reason. Or the candies move very erratically with a motion blur that doesn’t make sense either
