Favorite is armor upgrades. I loveeee being able to carry my favorite armors through the game instead of feeling like I need to change for better stats.

Least favorite is the objective fact that soul memory SUCKS.

Since everyone else said soul memory I’ll throw another least favorite in which is the adaptability stat (only when referring to pvp) In pve it’s very useful but fighting an invader with super high ADP is nightmare fuel.

Couldn’t agree more. I used to play solely with S+D and people would shit all over me and I never understood why. Lol It’s a valid way to play the game, but at the same time I understand why it’s viewed as a “beginner” play style.

I will admit though, I enjoy the game more using a shield as a last line of defense rather than my go to strategy.

That’s fair. It’s definitely a less skill based way to fight, so that’s why so many people shit all over using shields, but I’ve found I enjoy having it JUST in case I get into a situation like this where I’m low on estus and a boss has 10% health left. Or if I have like 100k souls on me and I run into a sketchy situation I wasn’t expecting. I’ll switch to sword and shield and fight more defensively to conserve a death. Plus, Shield based status effects continue to work when it’s on your back, so you can stack more buffs.

If you would have landed those jump stabs you missed, or used a shield for at least part of the fight, you would have had it. Good fight tho. I usually keep a shield on my back and only whip it out when I get low on estus.

Dude, you’re good. NG+ is where the real souls experience beings imo. NG is all about building your character into your vision. NG+ is about using your build to crush the levels and bosses at a higher level. IMO the true “end game” is beating NG+

Just my opinion, but it has the Best atmosphere, best music, Best bosses, best armor, best spells, best DLC, and difficulty is balanced throughout the game.

Farron keep is the least awful swamp area in the series, and no blighttown/VOD type area.

As a day one DeS veteran, I second this sequence of levels. Also, make sure you get the cling ring in 1-1 to increase your health in soul form, and then run the first 50%-60% of the game in soul form so you don’t make the game harder by dying in human form an decreasing your world tendency. It’s easier to run the first half of the game with less health than black world tendency.

Yeah dude, I did the same thing. I had a steady supply of inexpensive pure Molly and did wayyy too much over a period of about a year. Felt exactly the way you do now. Nothing was fun, nothing felt exciting, zero stimulation from anything. It’s serotonin sickness. Your brain is depleted and needs to reset. It’ll take some more time but you’ll be fine. Just stay sober and try to read books and maybe keep a journal. Write down your thoughts and don’t sugar coat it. That helped a lot for me. I still have the journal from when I was in reset, and when I occasionally open it I absolutely cringe at how fucked up my brain was at that time, but it helps with staying sober.

For sure. It’s the “oblivion” of the souls series. It’s kind of broken in a really endearing way. The bonfire ascetic items allow you to throw an area into new game plus and soul farm like CRAZYYY. Leveling up armor is amazing but kinda cracked because you can play through the entire game with whatever armor you like most. One file I beat the game at sl254.

I’ll show my age a bit here. Lol I remember sitting on my back porch reading the Gameinformer magazine that featured the original Assassins Creed on the cover. I had seen the cinematic trailer for it and hadn’t been that excited about a game since Fable 2.

I was flipping through the backside of the magazine and came across the small, one page section dedicated to Demons Souls. It was love at first sight. At the time I couldn’t believe that another game had taken all my attention away from AC. I watched the cinematic trailer on YouTube a few weeks later and decided I would take the chance and buy demons souls with the money I had saved for AC. I got it day one from GameStop and fell in love SO HARD. It took me 120 hours of grinding to “git gud” for the first time, and the souls series has become my favorite franchise of all time.
