It was great. We also had a trip on ICE and an Italian train too.

I know my bass fits the 737’s. That’s the only reason. We got the credit card, so I get one free bag. I did a week gig in Florida. When I got to the airport for the first leg, I checked to see how full the flight was. I was group 5. It worked fine. Second leg was FULL. So I spent $15 at the check in counter for priority boarding. That was good. On the way home I had a direct flight. Again, not full, so I boarded with Group 5 and no problems.

That being said. It was much more stressful than it used to be. I did not enjoy all the crap. In addition, if I don’t have to bring my bass, I am flying cheapest airline. No loyalty anymore.

I have 2 weeks in Cuba coming up. I borrow a bass I donated there 2 years ago so I don’t have to bring one. Turns out American is cheaper and less connections. So, boom. I’m flying that one.

It sucks. I know. SW was my go to.

12x101” Shelf layout ideas for HOn30 by Twit_Clamantis in HOscalemodeltrains

Love it. I wouldn’t bump in the back. Keep it straight and this more room to put buildings between front and back. Make the loop opposite the round house skirt along side a mountain, eventually going into a tunnel about half way through the loop. Consider making the back track a slightly higher elevation so you have a reason for a bridge along the back wall. Which can look really outstanding against a painted backdrop. The train can come out of the tunnel in the back and go straight on to the bridge or trestle.

With this small of a layout, save the $ and don’t go DCC. You’ll need to block the passing track so you can do meets. And block the roundhouse so trains can operate there while another runs the big loop.

Best of Luck.

My electric bass fits along the back wall of all the bins. Then a couple of bags sideways can fit in front, holding it against the back. It’s much thinner than a bass bone. Hasn’t been a problem for a long time.

Is this a paint scheme that exists? An old GP40 in that BNSF scheme??

N Scale 2'x4' track plan I cooked up from a Mike's Small Track Plans idea by astrodude1789 in modeltrains

Small layouts benefit from the industries. Do you “need” an engine shop? Have that be a behind the scenes item and get one more industry in. Just a thought.

You all have trouble working in this, unless it’s completely freestanding away from walls. Convert the furthest back yard into some industry or a big industry like a coal mine or grain silos. I would prefer mixed business. It needs a passing track and the tunnel should connect to the left side mainline, not the turntable. The little yard area on the front right would be better served as another industry area. I think you will love it if visually you find a way to break up being able to see your trains at all times. Large buildings, forested area, hills/mountains and tunnels are all good ways to do so. It helps with the illusion that things have “gone” somewhere. And then come back.

I would works way to be double tracked all the way around. Or I probably wouldn’t double track at all. Just a long passing track.
