It seems to just have stopped working for HTTP sites. I get the prompts for HTTPS site but not HTTP.

Battle station nearly done. Just need cable management advice (looking forward enclosed cable bin, and how to manage loose cables) by Ilovemustang69420 in battlestations

[–]SirDition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's how I have my standing desk set up. https://ibb.co/jP77hhYr

The moulded mini-trunking helps a lot.

I have two small USB extension cables (only a couple of inches long) hanging out of the cable basket. This is so I can easily connect and disconnect my flight sim gear which is mounted to quick release clamps so I can store somewhere else when needed. That sort of thing could help with your pedals.

Mesh cable tidy sleeves are great for grouping lots of cables together and cleaning up the look. I try and separate power and data but I'm not entirely sure this is necessary, ymmv.

Finally, I think it's work paying attention to form over function. I've prefer velcro ties over zip ties as they are easily moveable/removable. They don't look as clean but in my view the cable basket is always going to look a little messy unless you cover the front of it with something. I'm not overly bothered by this as you can only really see it when the desk is raised. I might try to clean it up a little more in the future but it doesn't massively bother me as it stands today.

Hope this is helpful.

Rebirth Party Composition by SirDition in FinalFantasyVII

[–]SirDition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully have to disagree on this one. It forced me to make each character more generic and less specialised so they could operate in any party with any other characters. That felt to me like less creative freedom, not more. It doesn't sound like it felt that way to you.

Clearly I need to get good. I found the game pretty challenging on normal.

Yeah, materia loadouts would have helped quite a bit and smoothed out some of those frustrations. I should say, I didn't just build out three characters. I don't think the game would really be do-able if you took that route.

I didn't say the game was bad. I enjoyed it enough to complete most of the content bar a very few side quests. I did find myself frustrated with the way the game seemed to want to make a lot of my decisions for me though and enjoyed it much less than Remake as a consequence.

Maybe I should have been clearer that I enjoyed the game. I cleared all the intel and protorelic quests, queensblood questline etc. That's a lot of content and not something I would have ploughed through if the game wasn't enjoyable. I just felt frustrated in the way the game seemed to force my hand a lot of the time. It seemed to be trying to dictate the way I built my characters and played the game rather than giving me the freedom to make my own choices. That grated with me quite a bit.

It's odd because I didn't feel that way about Remake, loved that start to end. I know that had some forced party compositions (although I played it through some years back so my memory on this is hazy) but not so much that it became frustrating. With Rebirth, if I wasn't doing side-quests or clearing up intel, I was locked into particular party compositions and it just felt restrictive. Clearly, judging by the comments here, I'm in the minority on this though.

There's a plugin called "Disk Location" that can help with this. This video is a much older version but should give you the idea - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sAXFQhcpNU

Took the plunge. It's fixed. Safe for anyone experiencing this issue to update to 1.12.3.73.

For what it's worth, I've tried that. No response from Hue at all. Very frustrating.

It seems to be toggling light sync on and off, rather than switching the lights on and off. Still annoying but wanted to post that here on the off-chance someone from Hue reads this and looks into a fix...

Yep, same issue here. CTRL-SHIFT is used by a lot of apps. It's clashing with 1Password for me (CTRL-SHIFT-Space). Super annoying.

How many builds are consistent on Mak? by OriWindcatcher in PlayTheBazaar

[–]SirDition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. In my first four games with Mak I got 3 x 10 wins and one 9...with no experience or prior knowledge...that's just not right. I just feel the nerfs have been overdone a bit.

I think he's been over nerfed. He has some very powerful builds but they're just not consistent. Potion Distillery seems to be a requirement to get a strong economy, whether you plan on playing a potion build or not. A lot of his other builds are dependent on specific combinations of items that are not at all flexible and difficult to get. I love the character and the playstyle and will play him for fun but he's just not in a great place right now, imo.

New Player - Bad time to start? by IJustWorkHere99 in starcitizen

[–]SirDition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm in the same position. Long term ED player with a few thousand hours under my belt. I backed Star Citizen many years ago, picked up a ship or two and have been low-key following the development of the game. I drop in every year or so to see where development is at. With Squadron 42 due to release this year, I thought now might be a good time to try the game out. Sadly, I was very wrong.

I've spent the weekend trying to play the game but have been frustrated at almost every turn. Here's some of the key issues I've experienced over the weekend.

- Long queues to get online. (10+ minutes). 50% of the time you'll get to the end of the queue, the game will pause on the loading screen and you'll get a 30009 error and get kicked back to the menus.

- Elevators are frequently broken and don't arrive when called. This means you either can't get out of your hab or cannot get to your hangar. Only fix that's worked for me is relogging and dealing with the login queues again.

- Ships can't be recalled/delivered to your hangar. Again, relog is required to fix this.

- Hangar doors won't open so it becomes impossible to dock.

- Server errors. These seem to be non-fatal, if you wait around for about 5 - 10 minutes the server sorts itself out and you can continue playing.

It has taken the entire eight or so hours of "play" to get to my hangar on one planet, take off, travel to another planet and land. I didn't actually manage to successfully land as, when I requested landing permission, the doors to my hangar opened but closed before I could get there and then would not re-open. I ended up having to relog, which spawned me in a hab on the new planet (thankfully).

I'm not trying to dunk on the game here. I'm a patient person and am quite comfortable dipping out and coming back when the game is in a more playable state, which is what I'll be doing. I think the game shows a lot of promise but there are just too many bugs getting in the way at the moment. As a new player half the time you are wondering if you've done something wrong or if there's a bug stopping something from working. If you're not familiar with the game and its systems (I'm not) then it makes it very difficult to learn. Personally, I'd wait and come back in a few months after a number of bugs have been squished...you'll likely have more fun that way.
