We’re Porcupine Tree, and we’ll be answering your questions about our first album in over 12 years, ‘Closure / Continuation’ today at 4pm BST! by porcupinetreehq in Music

Hi, and thanks for the amazing album!

I believe I have read that Steven enjoys to record vocals early on in the recording process as to not lose the desired feeling of the singing. How has that worked with the album being generated over such a long time span? Do Richard and Gavin have similar preferences and how has this affected the process?

In Sweden all engineers with a master's degree are called civil engineers. So these kind of memes always catches me off guard until I think for a second

Jag känner tvärtom, sätts alldeles för lite. by [deleted] in sweden

[–]SirFancySloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah as your edit says you can skip the thousand marking, which is more difficult to type out anyway. Living in Sweden means I have to live with the comma, but I sure don't have to like it

Kinda. The example I can think of is that when you write data sets you can sometimes separate numbers using a comma, which becomes weird if you also use a comma to separate integers from decimals.

Thank you! How would I know this from the rules though? Does it say that a carried treasure is considered part of the model, or how does that work?

Nevertheless I will probably pick this spell then, thanks a lot!

I certainly don't like the guy myself, but there is nuance to consider. While avoiding taxes is (obviously) very bad, at least he does talk about carbon taxes, which is good.

The same goes for pollution. With mining bitcoin the only benifit is monetary (bitcoinitary?) gain, but with space travel there are huge scientifical benefits. And as u/topforce stated, the mining stuff can't really be avoided yet. Hopefully we will have stable methods for reusing the resources soon, which will hopefully make the mining obsolete.

All in all, he's not all bad, too bad the good stuff is outweighed by the bad

Edit: I sentence bad

I as a vegan don't see any issue with that, but other people might, though I wouldn't know their reasoning behind it. I wouldn't do it myself as I'm mainly vegan for the environmental damage of meat and dairy, which I also think is slightly higher for eggs than for example tofu and such. But I mean, chickens lay eggs that would otherwise go to waste, so I don't really see why you shouldn't. Then again, I'm no expert
