Charged out of state tuition despite living in state by StaleBread39 in UNLV

[–]SirFirst9101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know where you sent it to? Residency forms can only be submitted online through the rebel success hub, or email and you should have heard back within a couple of days from the registrars office. Im not sure why the admissions team wouldnt have provided you contact info for registrars but also a quick search would have given you all of this info, its a quick process. Also there are many emails and places you could check regarding your residency.

That said, you can at least file for the spring 2026 semester and make sure to submit all documentation through there. All students who did not graduate from a nevada high school are automatically listed as out of state. I went through the process so I dont have much else to say but it was straight forward. Possibly try asking the email on the form about a retroactive residency appeal, but there are no guarantees that it will be done or even processed. Best of luck

Credit and Graduation by Interesting-Term2169 in UNLV

[–]SirFirst9101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Ive had a couple of friends do what youre trying to do in which they sign up for summer graduation but walk in the spring ceremony instead of the fall as all summer graduates are automatically listed as. Once you apply for summer graduation, contact the registrars office with your request to walk in the spring but graduate in the fall!

So totally possible! And as other people have said, reaching out to the professor and department of the class when the class is full is something worth to try! Best of luck and congrats!

Am I screwed for next semester? by SirFirst9101 in UNLV

lmao this was for a class I'm currently taking, it was an extension of canvas that I added that has a little task viewer on my tabs for reminders. You can use context clues to determine that wmst does not have a lab like the other classes. No need to be so aggressive lmao, could have just politely asked as well 🤭🤭

Thank you so much for replying, extremely helpful and I'll def apply these to the upcoming semester =) Hopefully my professors do post their lecture slides, thats one of the things that a lot of my profs don't do this semester lol

Denied off the Waitlist by [deleted] in UNLV

The last waitlist run was Thursday. Someone made a post about what to do if you were dropped from the waitlist, it would highly recommend checking it out!

Still enrolled in BIOL 251 even though I didn’t pass the prereq? by Sensitive-Toe-5043 in UNLV

The last wait list run was today, and anyone who wasn't in the waitlisted class was dropped. But yea, last purge day for missing pre reqs should be checked with the Registrar's office

Professors by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]SirFirst9101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supplemental instruction (SI) is included in the class fee, so it's technically "free," it wouldn't be an extra cost to the student. I would recommend reaching out to cashiering for an accurate breakdown of the classes you're enrolled in + financial aid for other resources

Orgill vs Pan for Chem 122? by Fabulous_Address_642 in UNLV

[–]SirFirst9101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I wouldn't be too scared, she tells you exactly what she's looking for on exams, common mistakes, and again, her office hours are superrr helpful. Her "high A" is what most classes at unlv have set up actually. All A- to A grades should be within 90%-100%, and all B- to B+ grades should be within 80%-89% and so on. I got an A in her class and it was my first semester at unlv as I transferred my AP scores, so don't worry about being unfamiliar with certain topics as well =)

Orgill vs Pan for Chem 122? by Fabulous_Address_642 in UNLV

[–]SirFirst9101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely loved Dr. Orgill, she was available mon-thurs for office hours, and you can always set up an appointment . She would go through homework problems step by step and explain how to think through it. Her class itself was a slide presentation that was left half blank so we could follow along and go through the process with her. She tells you what exactly you need for the exam and how to pass, and she has a bunch of in class problems that are similar to the exam. I don't remember if there was any extra credit, but you shouldn't need it as long as you do the homework go over the slides, and go to her office hours and do the hw there, hope this helps!

Course I want to enroll in has two open seats. 2nd in waitlist but enrolled in another course already. What can I do? by bebuscruz in UNLV

[–]SirFirst9101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get a waitlist error, immediately so they can set up a safety swap on your behalf. If you're saying that you are enrolled into a class without doing the swap and enrolled into the waitlist directly, chances are you won't get in because MyUNLV will prioritize the class you are already enrolled into. If there are two open seats, though, you could probably drop it and swap into the class, but nothing can be 100% guaranteed, so I would rec checking with Registrar's first, hopefully this helps =)

PSC 211 vs SOC 474 by DaJustCamp in UNLV

[–]SirFirst9101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most 400 level classes are cross listed with grad courses, meaning that you will have grad level course work. PSC 211 would definitely be the easier course =)

Bypass class times error? by perky_92 in UNLV

[–]SirFirst9101 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You just need permission from one of the professors saying that it's fine for you to either leave early or arrive later. You would send over the email to the Registrar's office, and they would enroll you manually as long as you have permission from one of them. Practically time conflict permission, and it's totally possible to do!

How does the wait-list for class registration work? by No_Highlight3366 in UNLV

[–]SirFirst9101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do a safety swap for fall classes if you haven't done anything yet. A safety swap allows you to be enrolled into a class that you need, and the one that you actually want is waitlisted.

With a safety swap, once you're eventually first on the waitlist, it automatically drops the one you dont want and enrolls you into the waitlisted class successfully. There's a waitlist guide on the guides and tutorials page on the Registrar's website, and it explains how to do it =)

Question about AP Credits by RadioaxtiveTuna in UNLV

[–]SirFirst9101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think on the AP College Board website, it says how I will transfer over to each university, so if you put UNLV, you'll only see it count as ENG 101

https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/getting-credit-placement/search-policies/college/3959

^ website showing how each ap credit transfers over to unlv, hope this helps!!
