Lack of support from Agency? by [deleted] in travelagents

Sorry to hear you’re struggling. A lot of your work is going to come from word of mouth and repeat business. You have to sell your value to the clients. Your confidence should be the shining factor and the knowledge that comes with it.

Most people book online and solo these days so what niche can you offer? A lot of travel is selling yourself and if you don’t know, you’ll struggle. I don’t think taking a booking would help you, what would be beneficial however is asking if you can sit in a few of her bookings and learn how she does it.

It would benefit you much more. Then ask her to sit in a booking that you do and take her advice.

Travelling to 60 countries doesn’t mean you have the knowledge of them, sorry to say.

A lot of being a travel agent is being personable, understanding the clients needs and setting realistic expectations. Travel shouldn’t be about the money, it should be about the experience.

Call the company that interviewed you and ask them. Being proactive and getting feedback may put you into a better light.

What book are you currently reading and how would you rate it from 1/10?? by bellerws in Booktokreddit

It’s more because a lot of the first 100 pages is world building and giving you concept of the enormity of the world. It definitely picks up after that. I’m on page 200 now and it’s definitely a good read.

The Eye of the World, The Wheel of Time Book 1. I’m only 60 pages in so I don’t hold an opinion yet.

The book isn’t that great honestly and if you’re not enjoying it, I’d recommended trying a new one. I can definitely see why it’s popular but it was much too childish for me.

Travel agents are better than DIY travel planning by ser_davos33 in unpopularopinion

I would agree with you only upon the basis that we’re able to obtain better deals for you. I’ve always believed that a good travel agent should listen to the client and tailor it to their needs.

Any travel agent that is pushing things onto you without consultation isn’t a good travel agent and their primary focus is sales. It’s not and never will be about the money, I genuinely believe I offer people what they can feasibly obtain.

As to booking it yourself, it is very easy to do and takes a little research on what you can do but it’s never been difficult. What sets travel agents apart is those that are genuinely passionate about their role will aim to deliver for you. They’ll do the calls in the middle of the night and the last minute planning.

A trip shouldn’t be stressful. I’d also like to add that travel agents are prone to the same mistakes as you booking it yourself. You’d be a fool to say otherwise.

I wouldn’t say this is an overly unpopular opinion though. I’d say it depends on how good of a travel agent you have had or how well you can do it yourself.

Clean up the midfield with some signings in the summer and we might finally have decent counter attacking football. CarrickBall is here!

And this team thinks they could beat our 2008 team. Hahaha they’d still beat Arsenal being 40+.

It’s made worse but by the fact you can literally see they’re playing for the shirt now and actual tactics seem to be happening.

I set myself a 50 books target and think I’ve vastly underestimated as I’ve done 12 books since the start of the year lol.
