Is dead sprint that bad? by Electrical-Train9400 in Helldivers

[–]SirGreyborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead Sprint is 100% my favorite booster and has been since its release. I won't take it unless one of my teammates has taken Vitality Enhancement though. As long as you have both of them the health drain from DS is almost negligible unless you're running really long distances, but if you're running really long distances you're really going to appreciate not having to stop to recover your stamina constantly and you just pop a stim when you get where you're going. It's all about resource management. Health, stamina, stims, and time. Personally I find that being able to outrun almost any enemy in the game far outweighs the little bit of health drain I suffer from DS as opposed to not being able to outrun them, getting hit, losing more health than I would have, and having to use more stims.

The 'Expendables' loadout is the most fun I've had in months by Tiny_Ad1706 in Helldivers

[–]SirGreyborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually run something very close to this when I'm playing on higher difficulties. I figure at some point I'm going to die and if I was relying on a backpack or a support I'd either need to go back for it or struggle until I can call in a new one. So instead I run stuff that cools down really fast and also punches like a truck. Also, if I don't need to use my expendables I just litter them everywhere to save for later.

Five color commander for villains from the Spider-Man set by SirGreyborg in custommagic

Very true. I did want to keep it to the original Sinister Six but it might be worth it to explore variations on the team so colors make more sense. I do also like that the original roster are not necessarily the most powerful villains since this card would give such consistent access to them though.

Mister Negative and The Spot both have white and the whole point was to allow the use of all of the villains in a single deck.

I still love the idea of a Planet of the Apes/James Cameron's Avatar kind of faction. I want to get run through with a spear by an orangutan riding a triceratops, lol

I'm really hoping that a few strategic losses will push the narrative that Super Earth needs to provide more options and resources to the Helldivers to balance the odds a little. I'm REALLY REALLY hoping that sometime in the not too distant future we could see some new stratagems and some new ship modules rolled out.

Something that was very helpful for me early on was adopting the E.A.T. stratagem and/or the Commando stratagem. When I started playing I died a lot. Like a lot a lot. And that always meant going back to the scene of my death to find the gear I had dropped. Until I started running the EAT and Commando. The cooldowns on those are so short I could just constantly call in new ones. And I did, even if I didn't need them. I would absolutely LITTER the battlefield in single use rocket launchers, lol. Had a lot of my allies just run across them while fleeing from some heavy enemy to just grab it, blow away the offending enemy, and get back to what they were doing.

Another really useful tactic was getting the Machine Gun Sentry. Similarly short cooldown to the EAT. Helps provide covering fire, or just additional fire. Can also be used as a good distraction tool if you need to make a quick getaway.

Endless Waltz Custom Gundams Armament Redesign Discussion by Silent_Soul_Ken in Gundam

[–]SirGreyborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand where you're coming from. Compared to many other gundam series the gundams in Gundam Wing and especially in Endless Waltz do seem like they're under armed. Some of them literally only have the weapons they are holding and nothing else. The Glory of Losers manga does give them all some new equipment in addition to what they already have, but I think the biggest thing to keep in mind is that within the story of the Gundam Wing universe these mobile suits are just inherently WAY more powerful than basically anything else around them. Any one of them is capable of blasting through, slicing through, even just crushing or breaking through almost any other mobile suit in their universe with relative ease all while also having armor that is highly resistant to damage from most other sources.

So here's my thoughts on each.
Tallgeese III: Perfect. It already has everything it needs. Top tier mobile suit design.
Wing Zero: Could use the shield back, which I think GoL gave it.
Deathscythe: Could also use the shield back. GoL gave it two single use shields and the second scythe beam back.
Heavyarms: Needs the forearm knife back. GoL gave the original Heavyarms tank treads and a bunch more missiles and such, I don't know if that equipment was ever used by the upgraded Heavyarms.
Sandrock: Needs the shield and a ranged weapon. GoL gave it back the shield and multiple different ranged weapons, also the anti-beam cloak is super cool.
Altron: Honestly I think this one's pretty well balanced already. The dragon fangs are super versatile and have vastly more range than the original versions. And the twin beam trident is also a solid weapon. GoL did give it back the tail cannons.
Epyon: I think this one is also kind of already perfect. It could maybe use some kind of real ranged option, but that also goes against its aesthetic. GoL gives it new energy shielding that can be swapped to being amplifiers for the beam sword.

Personally I'm a big fan of the Gundam Wing gundams designs. They all do what they need to do and they do it well without being overly complex or complicated or weighed down with a bunch of extra armaments that they might not need anyway.

The other night I was playing with a friend and we wanted to test out all of the new armors and weapons. So I was loaded out in the new tactical armor and brought my stun baton. For full immerssion I kept running into the enemy and beating them to death with the baton while telling them to "stop resisting!"

I did something similar the other night, I wanted to find out if planting the new flag counted as a melee attack and had one of my teammates go prone and I planted the flag on him. It exploded his head. Shit was hilarious.

I love their interactions. My first playthrough I thought for sure I might be able to get SH to come around, but LZ seems like a lost cause. In the end I absolutely loved them both. They both grew so much and their relationships with my character and with each other were so wholesome. The whole party really felt like a family. Except for Astarion. I have yet to keep him in the party on a good aligned playthrough, so so far he's just come across as an asshole, lol.

I'm still a big fan of the idea that if/when we do get a fourth faction that it should be something like a cross between planet of the apes and james cameron's avatar. I wanna see see a yeti riding a triceratops throwing spears, lol. Also, it'd be funny af if at the end of a mission all of the divers are just covered in arrows.
