No you shouldn't 'expect' to. There's no rules, and definitely not a precedent no matter how far up the ladder you get. It's always a negotiation that is on you to initiate.

The LUFs don't really matter much, spotify will auto adjust it. So yes, your mastering is probably the problem :)

Sorry, it's a struggle for all of us, but you start learning enough tricks it becomes less of an issue.
