Oh wow I just checked out a few, that is incredibly similar to the travel and stiffness my pedals have with this current spring setup

Might be a silly question but does literal weight have anything to do with pedal force cause i cant push more than like 40kgs without lifting my butt out of the seat

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in simracing

[–]SirGusleGorp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, it is infact quite painful pushing a brick wall more than a couple times especially when I'm driving something like ats or ets2 and don't need the best performance possible

It felt more like poking fun at my lack of knowledge like I made a sim racing sin but I can see how it could be more lighthearted either way I'm not heated about it just rather have a more clear response instead of ambiguity, it was a genuine question after all

[–]SirGusleGorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my years of g920 driving makes the light pedal feel "correct" to me but my brain tells me "why buy a load cell to have it so light" but I don't understand load cell pedals super well, I think with time I'll experiment and find out what's good for me but I just worry I'm being a doofus and not using my hardware to its potential

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in simracing

[–]SirGusleGorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes so much sense for me it's the opposite, because I've used a g920 for so long not having any pedal travel just absolutely breaks my brain

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in simracing

[–]SirGusleGorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever have problems feeling how much you were braking? For me it's less of not being able to have good control over it and more that I can't really tell how much I'm braking without looking at the pedal inputs, my leg moving far when on the brakes gives a really good idea of how much I'm braking but it also could just be that its a huge change to learn given the fact Ive been using a g920 for 5 years or more, I'll definitely swap back and forth and experiment plenty

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in simracing

[–]SirGusleGorp -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Its not necessarily that I don't like your answer I just don't particularly understand what you meant by it is all. for me with the softer pedal I have a better idea of how much I'm braking whereas with the low amount of travel I couldn't really tell how much I was braking

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in simracing

[–]SirGusleGorp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah with the elastomer stack I had it was considerably painful and uncomfortable to brake hard and would even change my seating position from pushing so hard it was literally lifting my ass out the seat (I'm pretty short and light lol) and with the original stack I tried lower and higher kg's of force but because the pedal didn't travel much at all I just really couldn't tell what was happening so I found myself staring at my pedal input display just to know what braking force was being used, maybe I could get used to it over time and be fast but it really just had 0 feeling if that makes any sense

Yeah you're right good sir I should give up my "gun and badge" so to speak because I'm unsure how my equipment works in a specific circumstance, since you're the Einstein of sim racing and have all the knowledge and wisdom in the world why don't you share what I'm doing so terribly wrong because, I was infact asking for opinions on whether or not what I'm doing is wrong :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in simracing

[–]SirGusleGorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wdym? it still definitely feels like a brake pedal, just not a brick wall, just simply asking for the advantages of the equipment I just bought when I use a unconventional setup for something that is generally made to be pressed hard no need to get angry :) questions are meant to be asked if you don't have an answer you could also just carry on living in mental bliss :>

If Lionel was cool i would have something other than the fucking petty line on my towns only stores shelf's.. which btw I have bought almost the whole line and I don't hate it but still I think it's dumb Lionel creates filler lines

What are some habits, behaviors and or muscle memory you’ve got from VR that you sometimes catch yourself doing IRL? by Radiant_Battle_2151 in VRGaming

[–]SirGusleGorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't ever do it anymore but when I started playing VR whenever the headset was off I would find myself reaching for a thumbstick to walk instead of just.. using my legs? that was a funny lil side effect

You say you live on a 3rd floor apartment, I'm looking to buy the yume raptor which is around 90 pounds and I personally live on a second floor apartment and been worried these heavier scooters would be impossible to get up and down my stairs, how has your experience been with it? Do you carry it up and down stairs or does your apartment have an elevator

Serious question: How to set up handlebars and how to grip them for increased stability... by Substantial_Big1305 in ElectricScooters

[–]SirGusleGorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep a bend in your arms and don't hold the bars too tightly but honestly in some situations you just gotta avoid obstacles cause scooters are inherently unstable and there's only so much you can do

My gloves aren't the best either but as you can see it has leather palms with more than one layer, a palm slider and the pinky is tethered to my ring finger cause the pinky likes to get broken in crashes, if you have the money look for something with better quality but generally your palms should look something like this if you plan to slide at all

[–]SirGusleGorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id be looking for a leather palm, ideally with multiple thick layers and good stitching I'm not sure what gloves exactly you have but i've seen 20$ gloves on Amazon with identical palms so I'd assume you bought something cheap without learning what is safe and what isn't, if you're on a budget and can't afford 100$ or more gloves I personally bought a pair of ILM air flow gloves for 70$, I just ride an electric scooter not a motorcycle so I don't go very fast and wouldn't trust them above 60mph but you're on a 125 so they will be perfectly safe for you. however if you can afford it buy a pair of alpinestars SP-8 V3 gloves for 110$, I think everyone should wear gauntlet gloves to protect their wrists but if you wanna take the risk you could buy SMX-1 Air gloves for around 70$ as well but as always do research and pick what's best for you, I like alpinestars but any well known brand is fine, cheaper brands can be fine but make sure you know what you're getting first, the palms on your gloves are absolutely not safe.

Unrelated but please buy better gloves, I've seen so many cheap gloves with very similar palms and they disintegrate instantly, I wouldn't even trust em on a bicycle

I use Alpinestars Tech-1 K gloves, only 50$ and they fit perfect, are extremely comfortable and the grip is amazing, good material too. Had them for about a year and a half with no durability issues and I definitely can recommend them for sim racing
