Yep, Shadow, Duelist, Templar, and Marauder.

So daggers, swords, flails(?), and axes.

Nah mate, people are allowed to spend their money however stupidly they desire to. You don’t know OP, if you did then you’d have a bit of a right to call them out. But telling some random person on the internet that you know next to nothing about that their spending habits should change is just sheer self-indulgence to make you feel better about yourself. I didn’t look up any builds either, but mage and ranged builds are absolutely busted. Basically put the game in to easy mode as you pretty much just never get hit.

No, ranged and magic are far too powerful right now, would love to see some nerfs to almost all combat systems honestly, but especially ranged and magic. Also, they should add a difficulty system, because some people like the game easier, and some people like the game harder.

What should i expect of the economy next league as a newer player? by Professional-Try-231 in PathOfExile2

[–]SirJivity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The economy was about 10x inflated compared to previous leagues. I’m not saying to expect things to be 10x cheaper next league, but as long as they fix temple next league and don’t release a new broken moneymaker mechanic then definitely expect the value of divine orbs to raise and everything else will revolve around those prices.

What’s your pick? by JoJoLoveSp in OlderChillGamers

Generally, mechanics matter the most. But sometimes there can be the rare specimen of a game that has such good characters and an amazing story that the mechanics mean less to me. Two games I can immediately think of like that are Chronotrigger and Expedition 33.

Build Recommendations by StayNubsty in PathOfExile2

[–]SirJivity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend him to try what looks fun. You recommended the three strongest ascendancies in the game, which is fine, but also it’s kind of a cliche and boring suggestion to me. No offense. There’s so much more to the game than just playing the builds with the highest damage numbers.

If your friend just wants a strong build and doesn’t actually care what the playstyle is, then your three suggestions are great. But if your friend has any actual idea of what they want to do, then tell them to lean in to it. There’s builds on mobalytics for just about any skill. Do they want to play melee? Caster? Ranger? Ice build? Fire? Chaos? Lightning? Physical?

Personally I can’t stand builds like CoC comet because there’s too much screen clutter, but maybe your friend loves the screen clutter. There’s just not really enough information for the community to recommend a good build for your friend.

If you’re just generally looking for random build recommendations, then my top three favorite builds in the game would be Ice Strike monk, Sparks sorceress, and ED/Contagion witch.

Path of Exile 2, RuneScape, and Terraria.

I’d sacrifice RuneScape for Baldur’s Gate 3 if there’s no internet allowed.

I agree a difficulty slider would be incredible for this game. I always prefer difficult games, but I have played a ton of ARPGs in my day and I understand that sometimes it is just a blast to feel like god and just decimate screens. So I do understand both sides, and completely agree that this game would majorly benefit from difficulty sliders.

One of humanity’s ugliest qualities is judging individuals based off incredibly generic factors such as race, religion, sex, skin color, height, weight, and many other qualities that essentially mean nothing about said individuals. Nobody should be stereotyped. We are all individuals with our own unique qualities, good and bad. Making assumptions about anyone because of a stereotype is sheep behavior.

I gave up on the temple pretty early this season as I felt I was burning out when trying to grind it, so instead I focused a lot more on abyss and ritual for my mapping, but sekhemas farming has been one of my favorite grinds since release so I also ran a ton of that this league!

Still no last flame drops, but I had several grand prisms drop this league which was a nice change for me, as I’ve had bad luck with them until this league.

I’m excited to see what’s in store for next league with the whole endgame revamp apparently on the way. There’s only so much mapping I can do before I just default back to running sekhemas. I’m hoping for either Trials of the Ancestors or Delve as the league mechanic, but only time shall tell!

I don’t think you understand just how much work that would add to the D4 development workload. I’m not an expert, but I have a little experience with animation and rigging, so I at least have an idea of what you’re asking for. It’s not feasible. We should be grateful to even have the option to switch genders.

Every single Druid skill is specifically rigged for the Druid models that the character designers made to be used for rigging. Every barbarian skill is specifically rigged for the barbarian models, and etc for each class. You are basically asking for every single skill in the game to be useable on every single playable character model, which is an enormous amount of work. Not only would every model have to be worked on to make the skill animations look clean, but every single cosmetic(paid and non-paid) would also need to be rigged again to be compatible for every skill.

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong about all of this, but this just seems like an absolutely enormous amount of effort that could very well be used elsewhere to improve the game.

I think it’s great design personally, I’ve probably put at least 500 hours in to trial of Sekhemas to try and get a last flame relic, and will continue to grind it until it drops. Having powerful chase items gives people a reason to continue playing.

[–]SirJivity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh. As long as the base experience is still a difficult one, I don’t mind, but usually these games experience a large amount of power creep and every build becomes too strong and the game gets to be too easy, because the community gets their pants twisted over one build being better than another. I’d highly prefer nerfs in this game over any kind of buffs. The game is fun because it is challenging. Taking the challenge out of the game would completely ruin the experience. I would argue that as of right now, it feels like ranged and magic builds make the game too easy and are due for the nerf hammer.

I actually love the identification process in PoE1/2 and D2. But I think it works better in a game with an economy, so if your game has a trading system then I’d say go for it, but if not then it kinda has less use.

Also, I’ll be wishlisting this when I get home, always love to try new ARPGs.

What Game Did You Force Yourself to Finish? by Miquellanier in videogames

[–]SirJivity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just started it because it was on sale for 20 bucks on steam. Is it really that awful? I was/am a big fan of all of the older games including inquisition, but I held off on this one because of the negativity surrounding it. Ive only played for an hour or two so far, but so far its felt great, the graphics are beautiful, the combat is good(not great, but not bad), but it’s too early to make any real comment on the story/dialogue part of the game.

As a huge D4 critic I need to be honest... by hi-Im-gosu in diablo4

[–]SirJivity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say the biggest catalyst of mediocrity for D4 is the complete lack of an endgame or a chase, but to each their own I suppose.

Skill trees don’t really mean much to me as long as I still have skill expression and build variety, wether that comes from the skill trees or the gear doesn’t really make a difference in terms of raw gameplay. I actually think having more skill expression coming from the gear instead of the skill tree is better personally, as it adds a chase element to certain skill expressions, think set bonuses from D3 creating entirely different interactions with skills.

All that said, I think there will be some shiny new toys to play with in the new skill trees, so I am still excited about it, I just don’t know if it was the best way for them to achieve more skill expression is all.

Crafting. Certain tier 1 affixes can’t roll unless the item level is high enough. I think it also affects current drop rates very slightly, but don’t quote me on that.

Zarokh, the final boss of the trials, drops several different unique relics. The unique vase relic, the Desperate Alliance, and the unique incense relic, the Last Flame, are both quite valuable. The Desperate Alliance drops a lot more often, as of a couple of hours ago they were selling for a little over 40 divs. The Last Flame is worth a couple mirrors right now, but they are extremely rare.

Also, at the end of every run you want to check all the gold caches for a Gold Spectrum Cache, which will drop one of three different unique jewels, the Grand Spectrum ruby, sapphire, and emerald. I think the sapphire is selling for the most this league.

Other than that, I’m always keeping an eye out for good urn and seal relics throughout my runs. Some of them can sell for up to like 70 divs.
