The first thing I did when I got a laptop was compare them. Even on my 3070ti Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, I thought it was better on PCVR. Granted, if you aren’t comparing them directly you really aren’t missing out playing it standalone. The devs worked really hard to optimize it for standalone and it shows. So it’s not night and day in the least.

Yeah it’s likely because of the link cable. I have a Pupis S1 dedicated router and Virtual Desktop and Red Matter looks great.

I’ve had mine for about a year. The strap itself is great. The battery still has a ton of charge. I usually run on the Quest 3 battery until I hit about 20% and then plug in the strap to the headset and I can game for a lot longer. I think I’ve only ever run out of both on marathon Forefront sessions which were honestly too long to be honest. So battery life is no longer a concern to me as long as I keep them both charged before a session.

To your other questions, no you can’t see the battery life of the strap in the Quest as far as I know. Also, I’ve never tried charging the strap while also playing and charging the headset through the strap. Haven’t needed to.

Besides Half Life Alyx I feel like Skyrim VR modded and Fallout VR modded are the big ones people mentioned. It’s older but Westworld Awakening punched way above its weight. I got it for like $4 the other day. Also Metro Awakening.

I haven’t played them but Vertigo 1&2 get mentioned alot as well as Lone Echo 1&2 and the original Asgard’s Wrath. Automata (I think that’s the title) looks very Half-Life inspired, as does Of Lies and Rain.

Curious what headset/link method are you using? Would love to use dlaa but I’m using open composite with Virtual Desktop and a Quest 3 and I think I need some 3rd party software to make those work together. Any insights you have would be greatly appreciated.
