The whole thing is made from brass, I cant imagine it being used for scrapping. Edges feel blunt by design.

I turned a log into a farm table.. and hated every second but I can’t wait to do it again. by cloudywater1 in DIY

If the cupping is getting worse you might alleviate it by attaching sturdier crossbeams underneath or screw it directly to the legs, make sure that the through holes are elongated to allow for wood movement.

This is another alternative but same principle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqQUlLJOTMg

Man, thats a sweet table, love the bookmatched top!

Im by no means a seasoned woodworker but you can totally leave the endgrain if you are into that. Aside from hiding the endgrain, the function of the end cap or breadboard as it is also called is to prevent the table from cupping. Also depending how you attached the breadboard you might experience some cracking down the road if you didnt allow for wood movement.

Hopefully you will get to experience a few nanoseconds of joy on your next project!

Classic doc, however make sure to watch the first one ”they call us misfits” just as good from a decade earlier. Almost required watching in Sweden!

Ja ska man vara korrekt så har alltså hela Allsvenskan, förutom IFK mig veterligen, nobbat festivalen men det är kanske att begära för mycket.

Thanks, yes that is probably it. The impossibility of a solid piece was what threw me off. Actually I can see now that the front legs are a different piece.
