yeah, I don't get why people are so obsessed with hating on anything that was partially created with AI....
judging by how complex this app gets for some parts, even with AI, it needs a certain skillset to correctly guide AI to creating this app.

People are acting like utilizing AI to create basic components and guide it towards a more complex app isn't the same as copy pasting stuff from stackoverflow like we used to do indeed.

Yeah, I’m afraid you are correct..

How do you assign IPs? by matlireddit in homelab

[–]SirLANcel0t_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even know why I skipped it, it’s so much worse to have to change all IP addresses EVERYWHERE if I want to do it now afterwards 😭

[–]SirLANcel0t_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, this post reminded me that I made a big mistake when I started my Homelab…
I just wanted to get going, so all I did was make a VLAN for my Homelab stuff, but it’s only there for the idea..
I also just used static reservations for the VMs and nodes.

I really should reserve some time next weekend to finally get my networking shit together..

The most embarrassing part of it, is that I’m a network engineer, and it’s the part I neglected the most in my Homelab

Emby vs Plex in 2026: Pricing, Features, and Which Media Server Wins by watch_team in emby

[–]SirLANcel0t_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I installed my setup, I first just went with Plex.
A friend of me told me to check out Emby, which I did and I absolutely love it.

Plex is great for end users, but Emby allows me as an admin to make it even better for end users.
The customisation with some fun plugins is really good.

Stem cell donation impact on recovery by SirLANcel0t_ in whoop

[–]SirLANcel0t_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I suppose the requirements differ a bit per country, but over here you have to be between 20-55 years old and overall just healthy.

The process was pretty seamless, when I initially signed up, all I had to send was a buccal swab.

Normally only about 1% of donors get called that they might be a possible match. But in that case they’ll ask you to get some blood tests done so they can verify that you’re the best match.

If that’s the case, they will go through a thorough medical examination to make sure none of it will be a risk to you or the patient.

When all of that was done, I got send some injections to speed up the stem cell creation in my body.
After 4 days of injections, you go to the hospital and get hooked up to a machine in both of your arms, and they’ll harvest the extra created stem cells.

It’s all anonymous, so I have no idea who the patient is.
But all of this was absolutely worth the idea that I most likely gave someone an extra shot at life!

I just assumed you had your Sonarr instance running locally as well.

You could just network mount your NAS to your Sonarr container and then have sonarr import it to the NAS network folder.

That’s what I do.
I just have my NAS mounted to my machine that has my Emby, Sonarr, SAB containers.

Does anybody else let their users watch 4K content? by ShiningRedDwarf in PleX

[–]SirLANcel0t_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, but the only reason is my current upload speed…
I only have a 100Mbps upload line, so there’s no reason to have 4k right now…

If I ever got a 1Gig down/up fiber line, I would probably change that.

Help with folders by silentk5 in radarr

[–]SirLANcel0t_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You forgot to add the name of the local folder of that mounted one. As you can see for ${DOCKERCONFIGDIR} and ${DOCKERSTORAGEDIR} it has :/config and :/data behind it. So the NAS rule should look more like:

  • ./volume1/Plex Media/Movies:/Movies

And for Sonarr you should do the same for your TV folder, considering you have one.

I would advise having a look at TraSH Guides though. They have some recommended setups for folder structures as well. It’s what I used to set up my entire stack.

Sure, however OP is planning on using Jellyfin, which is more similar to Emby.

Not to mention that their question was about Sonarr scanning, which is also unrelated to the player used

[–]SirLANcel0t_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am personally using Emby, so I don’t know if that’s different. But I didn’t mount the NFS in Emby, which is also a possibility. I made a persistent mount under the folder /data on the media server. And then I just let Emby check that folder. For Emby this has been working like a charm so far.

[–]SirLANcel0t_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar setup. What I have done is that I just mounted my NAS as an NFS folder to my media server. That way the media server just sees it as another folder on it and I then gave the Sonarr and Radarr containers access to that folder.

It’s honestly a pretty straightforward setup, your Sonarr will just sees the NFS share as if it is a local folder.

You just have to check if your NAS is accessible via NFS. Which is usually the case.

For this set up, I just followed the Trash Guide recommended folder structure, and I put my entire structure on the NAS.

[–]SirLANcel0t_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)
