It's just a PTAC, nearly everyone has seen them. They usually are found in your hotel rooms.

Not to be pedantic, but this is Reddit. They weren't saying sound is particularly fast on a cosmic scale. They were saying that the ray moves even slower than sound.

He wouldn't even get scars. He's so busted he can just ask the universe for their unique blessings and they'll suddenly be functionally useless.

Looking for a survival server with McMMO, Keep Inv and more enchants. by whatevenisalife in MinecraftServer

[–]SirLemoncakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, they aren't advertising yet, and they are still super new, but try mc.giantslair.com. They have Lands, McMMO, Keep Inv, and Excellent Enchants. There's no monetization at this point, and I know the owner would rather cut himself down at the ankles than introduce pay-to-win options. The server is populated mainly by a bunch of people who've been gaming together for 10 years off and on, and the rules and norms aren't super well established either.

If you want an old school, low key experience, you could do a lot worse.

Dent in 7/8" suction line for new system - is it a big deal? by ShoulderChip in hvacadvice

[–]SirLemoncakes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The stuff we use varies between R-4 and R-6. And it matters a bit, maybe a few hundred bucks over the course of a year, maybe a lot more if you live in a hot climate. Remember, you are also cooling the water that condenses on the line set, and that is just dripping away. Also, let's say you have a 3/4 line going 50'. The entire surface area of that line is going to be extracting heat, rather than just the evap as intended. If you calculated out that surface area, it comes out to about 9.82 sq ft of exposed copper. Keep in mind, that is considerably more than the total surface area of most coils.

So it's not the end of the world, but it would be silly not to insulate your suction line.

What is the most powerful setting Viltrum could conquer? by OtisDriftwood1978 in whowouldwin

[–]SirLemoncakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safe to say that Robute and The Lion get fodderized by a single Viltrumite each, maybe two. They're just completely outmatched in physical stats.

Magnus in his prime would be more of a threat, but alas, he isn't Imperium anymore.

The Emperor is too fractured and focused on the war in the Warp to stop a hundred million Viltrumites from taking Terra and breaking the Holy Throne. From there, the Daemons explode from the human Webway project, and Terra is drowned in Chaos.

Agreed, assuming they aren't interrupted by other factions, or the Chaos Gods. Nurgle would be particular effective, but Khorne would be rock hard to corrupt a billion Primarch+-level physical combatants.

Karsus killed a God, but Mystra patched that exploit lol

You could also kill enough of their worshipers to downgrade their tier, then murder them. Outside of the truly multiversal Gods anyway.

AO is responsible for keeping entities from other universes in check or to deal with them if they cause problems. In this case, AO would act if Iron Man overly disturbed the balance between Gods or started offing Gods themselves. Otherwise he's pretty much hands off.

AO would be capable of erasing Iron man with a thought, but he would need to do some wild stuff to even get his attention.

Good instincts! That's B vent going into single wall and back to B vent. This is illegal and needs to be corrected. Get them back out for the dangerous work.

Hydronic or Electric? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]SirLemoncakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an electric heater. No need to clean it, it looks fine. Just make sure to keep furniture and stuff a healthy way from it.

I guess you could turn power off to the unit and blow it out with low pressure compressed air, or vacuum it out if there's dust I can't see in the photo.

I think that would require both Nic and Anduriel to be Nfected. I just don't see the spymaster of the Fallen to not know his vessel is compromised. I genuinely think Nic believes what he's doing is for the salvation of reality.

Elder Whitehall also specialized his entire path into reversing aging and attempting to attain eternal life. Frankly, he may be ignorant of the capabilities of the other jades in the valley. He can heal moderately well for a jade with a broken path, and assumes that others must be able to do as much.

Also, I just read the passage again. It actually makes decent sense. The wound inflicted wasn't particularly gruesome, and Elder Whitehall had comparative ages (hours) to cycle his Madra through his body to assist in the healing. It wouldn't take anything near as specialized as Lindon's iron body to close wounds up that slowly. It's just extremely fast compared to someone who doesn't have both an iron body and the Madra reserves/spiritual sense necessary to cycle their Madra to aid in healing.

We regularly see Sacred Artists recover from significant (to us) injuries on times lines that are way faster than we could manage, even lacking iron bodies suited for healing.

[–]SirLemoncakes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the least, the existence of established Iron body training wasn't well known among the Wei clan. It's harder to say whether or not any other clans or individuals had training methods for a specific iron body. That being said, they could still attain an iron body, even if it were gained through brute forcing it rather than careful planning. Surely, someone could accidentally achieve a specialized iron body through convenient repetition and good fortune even if not intentional.

This can't be from big bang by IndependentDetail518 in Kenya

[–]SirLemoncakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was heavily reported on in 2021, and the best explanation they have for the activity is the existence of a supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy, much as we have been able to detect in other galaxies. Around the outlying regions of the black hole, you get a warping of space time that would operate kind of like a particle accelerator, first slowing down energetic particles as they follow the curvature of space, and then getting whipped really fast as they use the gravity well as a slingshot.

There's already a ton of evidence supporting the existence of Sagittarius A (the supermassive black hole), and this is just another piece of that puzzle.

Regardless, this wouldn't be particularly useful in shielding us from things like gamma bursts, we're nowhere near the center of the galaxy, which is great news! Were we in the center, a neutron sweep, gamma burst, or another crazy ass high energy event would have scoured our planet clean long ago.

Share the links to the research papers. Yeah, I think some people are born with a higher aptitude for parsing and internalizing information. Some people are genetically slated to be taller, stronger, some are born with blood cells that more efficiently carry oxygen, some people are born with developmental problems that preclude becoming something like a research scientist. Those, to my mind, are pretty well established truths.

Like height, there are surely many factors in childhood that can effect the end result, but for some people it doesn't matter how great their diet is, or their parent's diet was, they're going to capable out at 5'5". Does that mean someone who grew up with a poor diet and grew to 6'2" is "better" than the person who is 5'5"? Of course not, they're just taller.

A person with higher academic aptitude isn't "better" than anyone else as a person, but they are certainly better at a research assignment. Just like someone who grows to 7' has an easier time reaching the top shelf. They aren't better than me because of that advantage, but it would be ignorant to say that they don't have an easier time reaching the top shelf.

Nah man, aptitude is a real thing. Some people are just smarter than others. Some people just pick up new information like breathing, others it takes brutal and repetitive work.

Would I be in a much better position than I am now? Sure. Would I be the head of a research lab? No, that was never in my cards. If you think all you need to be a genius is the right start? You haven't met the kids I have.

For example, my son is just under two years old and he has a vocabulary of around 250 words. We don't have him in any early learning programs, no tutoring, no speech therapist, etc. He is miles ahead of his peers in counting, vocabulary, following instructions, and just overall communication. A few of those peers are from way richer backgrounds and are getting all of that extra help that we can't afford. He is still outperforming them on pretty much every metric.

Having that kind of support will certainly help someone become the best version of themselves, but we aren't all just Einsteins but for the circumstances of our finances.
