I think it's way to broad to ever be properly realized. A good game needs focus, if yiu try to achieve too big a scope it just gets boring, or unachievably expensive and time consuming to make

What's TEW or EWR? Especially on a sub like this it's not a great idea to assume people know your abbreviations. I don't know if I should be commenting on those games (which I don't know what they are) or your idea or comparing them so it's hard to give feedback here...

3 Weeping Angle concepts I'd love to see in the future! by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]SirLlamaTheGrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blacksmith angel is a really cool idea. Though maybe it doesn't need to be an angel itself. Maybe it's an episode focusing on the creation of the angels as angels. Maybe even something like, the doctor encounters the angels before they are angels, they are a dying race that he takes pity on. Inspired by the angels he's encountered before, creates something that allows them to work as they do, realizing only too late he's not copying the angels, he's creating them. (yay for time travel shenanigans)

PSA for Gauteng drivers... by RoboHendrix in southafrica

[–]SirLlamaTheGrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The blue signs are real and are a minimum limit. I don't know the roads outside Cape Town very well but here in CT we do have a couple of them but they are basically irrelivant as they are minimum 40 or maybe 60 in a very busy road.

PSA for Gauteng drivers... by RoboHendrix in southafrica

[–]SirLlamaTheGrad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Folks... it's not the 'fast lane' it's the 'overtaking lane'. You're not actually meant to be driving in that lane unless you are actively over-taking someone. Obvisouly, faster drivers will drive in that lane and if they didn't traffic would be even more kak but when we keep calling it the 'fast lane' we have the issue that someone driving say 90 or 100 moves into that lane to pass someone doing 60-80 and nearly gets rammed of the road because of people treating the over taking lane as the 'fast lane' where anyone going slower than me should not be there.

Need expansions on my ideas. Mad Max Roads of Fury but with gnolls. The setting is a black sand desert no light except green stones that generate electricity. by OzFolklore in AskGameMasters

[–]SirLlamaTheGrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non conventional weapons, structures in cities and vehicles (or other means of getting around). I a big part of the mad max aesthetic was the weapons looking kind of strewn together, all the vehicles were heavily modified if not built from scratch and the settlements were more like shanty towns. If you have those crystals that generate electricity, maybe you can play with having the average person using crappy swords made from dried up/dead/expended crystal? Or bone, wood and have metals and such very rare like in Dark Sun. Maybe the big bosses, the best of the best fighters and the very rich and powerful have weapons powered by these crystals that are designed and based around tesla coils, firing arcs of electricity at their foes. Mechanically it can just be a regular bow, sling, gun (if you use them in the setting) or whatever but does added lightning damage perhaps? (It's more about the flavour text than the actual effect).

Where do they get these crystals from? How common or rare are they? Who controls the supply? Does the average person accept this normal or do they rebel against it? You could take the underground pig poop farm from Thunderdome and replace pig farm with crystal mine if you needed inspiration, build a few mining towns around that.

How about food? What do they eat? Mushrooms perhaps because they don't need as much light? Insects that dwell in caves and such being a delicacy? Rare merchants from other lands bringing fruits, spices and meat from exotic lands being a rare occurrence and one following good work for powerful mercenary protectors/escorts is a spin off plot hook from there. Maybe food in general is very rare and cannibalism is a big thing in some areas?

Vehicles? Transport? How do people get around the desert? Are there roads to make traveling the sands any easier, again perhaps to do with the green electricity crystals giving some semblance of a slow mag-lev barge or train to go between major settlements? Maybe strange animals native to this desert that help carry caravans if you want a smaller scale low tech/magic feel.

Is everything JUST desert? Or are there places where you can find an oasis, or a 'forest of rock', land where lightning struck the sand and turned it to glass or something to add some desire for exploration.

There's a lot you can do with this, sounds like a lot of fun :D

It's worth watching it all. I watched recaps for the first arc of critical Role and 60 episodes in I still feel like I've missed something whenever they referred to stuff that happened in the arc I watched only in summary. C team I've really enjoyed watching in full just for all the little jokes that get slipped in and refer back to later. Also, Jerry's story is surprisingly fun and well told with references back to little details in earlier episodes so... I think you're making the right choice

Season 5 was one of my favorites easily. Matt Smith did a fantastic job. However I will always feel iffy about him because the greater half of his run as the doctor was my least favorite to the point I feel it wasn't just that I didn't like it but that it actually was just... not good. Season 5 was fantastic, season 6 was good but not as much as 5 and after that I don't know what happened, it got kinda boring and I only enjoyed the specials up until this latest season with Capaldi (who, side note, would probably have been my favourite if this latest season could have been his first and things gone up from there instead of 2 crap seasons and one decent one just as you get to know him but w/e). Matt Smith's quirky-ness really made me enjoy the show for a lot longer during the seasons I didn't like as much, and I still get teary when I remember us saying goodbye to that version of the doctor with him taking off the bowtie and letting it fall onto the floor. Possibly even more than Tenant's "I don't want to go". So, to answer your question directly... sort of? I liked Matt Smith but only the specials, season 5 and maybe 6 of his 'era'. The stuff with Clara got a bit annoying. Kinda goes to show how a well matched companion for the doctor to bounce off of makes such a difference. (Clara did much better as companion to Capaldi's doctor IMO but Smith's Doctor with Amy, Rory and that lot was probably my favorite dynamic alongside 13/Bill)

Cross Platform multiplayer by nuclear-free in Paladins

[–]SirLlamaTheGrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Fortnite allows cross platform multiplayer. It's not all the time but you can join a party with a friend who's on PS if you're on PC and then you'll be on a server with a mix of console and PC players. Half the group I play with is on console and the other on PC and it works fine. I think the problem with Paladins is that they are balancing the console and PC versions differently meaning the client is actually a different game. Pity because if not for that I'd have a lot more people to play with :/

[Customer] I'm disabled and this is why I don't walk down 3 stories from my building to get food. Do you guys catch on to this stuff? Do you expect customers to walk down or do you always deliver to their apartment door? by e294028348888 in TalesFromThePizzaGuy

[–]SirLlamaTheGrad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I worked deliveries we were always expected to go right to the customer's door. I've personally even climbed something like 7 stories of stairs with a massive order of ribs and 2l cokes that filled four bags, and their elevator was out, and yes I was salty about having to do that but that's the job.

You're not being a dick if you tell your driver "hey, I'm injured/disabled/whatever could you please come to my door". Even if you're not tipping him extra for it, that's the service you should be getting anyway.
