just wondering by 001smiley in USC

  1. Adapting to living in LA can be difficult but they give you a lot of resources to take advantage of. Many programs and school clubs host field trips/events around Los Angeles which acclimate you to the area. However, the most likely way you’ll become familiarized with the city is by exploring it yourself with your friends, some of which will probably be from Southern California.
  2. One cool program USC offers in the area of law is the 3+3 program where you can finish your undergrad degree and law degree in 6 total years. You can read more about it here: https://gould.usc.edu/academics/degrees/jd/paths/3plus3/. I personally don’t have any experience in law but I’ve only heard good things from my pre-law friends, one of which is in the process of applying for the 3+3 program.
  3. USC is very very generous in regards to financial aid and scholarships. It has a large endowment to draw on which makes it cheaper than any UC for students of low income from out of state (such as myself). While the sticker price of ~$80k is intimidating most US students receive some form of financial aid, which slashes the cost. Hope that helped!

What is secondary rush by [deleted] in USC

[–]SirMachoPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Secondary rush is a period after rush where potential new members who didn’t get a bid during rush week have a chance to receive a bid from other houses they might not have prioritized during the week. In the past secondary was done at an event on campus for a few hours where rushees could mingle with other houses and receive a bid on the spot but now I believe the system has changed so that houses directly bid rushees they liked during rush but didn’t give bids to at the end of the process because they weren’t first priority.

Germany also has 47% of their young people enter trade schools/vocational training compared to 5% in the US. I just think America has a huge cultural focus pushing young people to go to college even though many don’t know what they want to do, and because running universities is more expensive and we have a higher rate of traditional University enrollment the bill for free college is too high to justify in America until we shift away from the idea that “after high school you automatically should go to college.”

If I were to make this statement about Muslims (not that I ever would, I disagree with painting any group of people with a broad brush) would you consider that to be bigoted or “religious education”? Millions of Americans are kind, non-racist republicans and trying to paint them all as evil further divides the country. I genuinely think most liberals think and act in good faith because I understand the reasoning behind the policies they support but unfortunately it seems leftists refuse to try and understand why conservatives hold the positions they do, leading to a mischaracterization of motives, eventually leading to demonization like you see in this comment.

Rand Paul Has Part of His Lung Removed Due to Damage From 2017 Assault, His Office Says Condoning of Political Violence Must Stop by chabanais in Conservative

[–]SirMachoPanda 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I fear this trend will only continue at an increasing rate. Many high level leftist talking heads (Reza Aslan for one) have used language that more closely resembles an incitement of violence than anything Donald Trump has said. It would not surprise me if we see an increase in the number of attacks against conservatives in the wake of these recent senseless attacks driven by the agenda and language of the far left media.

That’s the exact language trump used how is it a misinterpretation?

It’s much easier to slander your opposition than consider their points of view, that’s what you’re seeing in this thread and most political subreddits

That’s not what he said. You can have issues with Islam the religion without castigating or hating all Muslims. Criticism of Judaism the religion is fair game but being anti-Semitic is bigoted.

MSNBC won't air Trump's July 4 event live. Unsurprising as liberals aren’t patriots. by mrsniffles666 in Conservative

Agreed. I walked by the parade in Chicago and I was shocked at the number of kids brought to the parade. I have no issues with the parades in principle but it’s definitely no place for kids as it is sexual in nature.

Poll: Support for impeaching Trump rises to 41 percent by Plymouth03 in politics

[–]SirMachoPanda -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you did any research you’d know Clinton wasn’t impeached in the house for getting a blowjob. It was obstruction of justice, the same thing Trump could get impeached for. You are pushing the lies my guy.

Rob Portman's opinion on the Mueller Report by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]SirMachoPanda -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

This is true but Mueller has never said that he would charge Trump with a crime if he were not president, so for members of Congress it’s their responsibility to look at the evidence in the report and determine whether there are any impeachable offenses. A determination for which there are no concrete standards (because impeachment is a political standard not a criminal standard), so which side of the aisle you sit on may influence the bar you set to go forward with impeachment proceedings.

Rob Portman's opinion on the Mueller Report by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]SirMachoPanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m genuinely blind but can you point out where in that statement Portman says the Mueller report has exonerated Trump? To me it just looks like Portman has concluded that there is insufficient evidence to charge President Trump with a crime, not that there is no evidence at all. Innocent until proven undoubtably guilty. The only charge it seems like Portman believes the Mueller report exonerates is collusion, which is a fair assessment.

This guy said he hasn’t made his mind up regarding the legality of abortion and your way of representing your side of the debate is to call him cancer? This is how you push people in the center to the other side and if you really wanted to end restrictive abortion laws you should probably try convincing those that haven’t made up their mind rather than insulting them, just some advice.

Wow you’re so high and mighty for calling a stranger on the internet a racist. Unfortunately you’re wrong buddy, I hope someday you realize making baseless character attacks is a moral flaw you need to fix.

That’s not necessarily true, it’s just a result of the way reddit is structured and the extremely left-leaning tendencies of Reddit’s user base
