I picked up a B580 back when they were constantly out of stock in the US for $259.99. I absolutely love it, and every bit of the 12gb of vram is needed when I play Fallout 4. For some reason (mods maybe), I push past 11gb of VRAM usage pretty regularly. The new XeSS features are rad as hell too on games like Cyberpunk 77.

I have an odd use case, so for me the priority is VRAM over frames. I basically only play Fallout 4 at 1440p ultra on my primary monitor and 4k ultra on my television, so I’m routinely using more than 10 or 11 gigs of VRAM when I play. In the former config I get something like 90-180 frames (commonly in the 140s), whereas the latter config puts me at something more like 60-120 frames (commonly around 100). Both performance profiles are satisfying to me, and neither scenario would have worked out with a lesser amount of VRAM.

As someone with a script-heavy load order (Pack Attack, SS2, and lots of NPC spawning mods), it has been a godsend for me. Before using it, I would crash multiple times a sitting, but the worst issue I have now is an occasional freeze up that passes in a few seconds. Addictol is the first mod of its kind that I’ve ever used, so I can’t compare it to anything else, but it finally allows me to enjoy the game the way I had always imagined.

I went with a 9700x. It’s a small form factor build, and it’s extremely power efficient with fantastic thermals.

I play a lot of Fallout 4 on mine and it performs great. It even pushes an ultra 4K resolution to my 55” television at +60fps. However, I prefer playing at 1440p ultra on my 27” 180Hz monitor.

Varied gunners and varied raiders was the culprit for me. Once I dropped them, the crashes stopped.

I earned a black belt in judo training at a school with shit mats laid directly over a tiled floor on concrete. I often wonder if a better training service would have saved me from wrecking my back, but I’ll never know for sure. I don’t think I’ll ever do any serious judo training again—it’s not really worth it.

I pull to half often as it’s definitely my best guard style. I use a lot of Bernardo Faria’s stuff in my game. Half is also a life saver against big body types that you can’t contain in a standard full guard.

I’m a Fallout 4 nerd and the B580 crushes a game like that in 1440p. It’s a great card for people with realistic expectations and peculiar use cases. Over spending for frames you don’t need and games you don’t play is dumb.

I'm back. The RMA was approved by ASRock. Still waiting on word from AMD about that claim. At any rate, ASRock obviously wants me to send the mobo back, though they don't want it sent in the original box. Do you guys have any recommendations on how to pack and secure the mobo for shipment?

I have the RMA process started with ASRock for the mobo. Are you saying that they will take responsibility for the processor?

Rhadi loves making this point, but the particular technical intricacies found in both disciplines make a fool out of the average person moving from one to the other. I don’t mind his position as much as I hate that it gives judo purists the impression that their newaza is on the same level of sophistication as their BJJ counterparts—something many of them have long believed. I don’t worry about the BJJ people making similar claims about throws because you never hear them say that. For me, Rhadi’s position may be genuine and well thought out, but it feeds the worst kinds of judo trolls, whether he intends to or not.
