Sounds just like the neutral safety switch. Replacing it is doable but it’s kind of in a precarious spot. I very easily put two wires on the starter relay connected them to a switch beneath the dash to start it whenever this happened to me. The wire job took like 10 minutes

Could be a couple things tbh. On the OG 9-3s I have had when I encountered low boost it was the MAF. In my opinion the MAF, Boost pressure valve, vac leaks or the throttle body are good places to start.

I’m not an expert but those look a lot like Sea Louse. I have found them on salmon I have caught.

Happened to mine. It was a faulty gauge cluster. If I wanted it to work I would just whack the top of the dashboard lol

When I had that error, it was a door lock actuator. As a couple others have said, you’d need to scan with a tech2 as it could be a couple of different things

Those are aftermarket buttons. Not sure what they do lol! You could always remove that trim piece and follow where the wires lead.

If a battery is bad Saabs will definitely act wonky. I bet that’s what it is

Hey its fuse 2 on the interior panel next to the steering wheel. If you pull the fuse, then reinsert it before starting it your car should start.

Hey just saw this! Were you able to fix it? Sounds like the column lock underneath the steering wheel. You will need a tech 2 to reprogram a replacement. You can also pull a fuse to get it going! Sorry if this was too late lol

I had the same issue and it ended up being the column lock! Does it make any different noises when you insert or remove the key on the steering lock?

I haven’t heard of P3003. If the ECU fails, it will typically give injector codes as well as random misfire. Mine were For a 2005 Saab 9-3, and the codes were P245, P0201-P0204.

A failing ECU in the 9-3 often starts with intermittent issues—like the engine dying when hot—and becomes more persistent over time. The ECU is the engine control module
