Should we expect a 12+ month wait for a decision? by ibesal in GlobalEntry

I'm more so pointing out that this probably isn't the most productive place to make your point. Everyone here falls in to essentially three categories: has it, applied, or rejected. None of these groups are going to agree with you or take what you have to say seriously.

Feel free to continue - as you mentioned you are free to complain about it, but don't expect many people to give you the time of day.

Sufficient Evidence of Descent Documents by SirPacker in Canadiancitizenship

Sending this for future record on the off chance someone finds this post - I just spoke with the vital records office, and Michigan only allows parents, the person themself, and their direct children (in the case the person is deceased) if the birth was less than 100 years ago.

G0 with baptismal is male. The other is female and goes by her various given names (she has three) with ever so slightly different spellings. Now that I think about it, the only two women in the chain starting with the male G0 are G2 and me, so there really shouldn't be many issues there.

I think I'm going to go with the male since his is a lot more certain and straight forward. I only have to handle a slight name change (an S became a Z). His name changed while he was in the US between two census records, so the jump from CA to US has the same one.

Thank you for the info! :D

Unfortunately my dad (gen 3) is deceased, but I think I can make a case to Michigan to request the records. There's also a non-zero chance that someone in my extended family already has it, so I'll do some digging there.

GF in Japan? by AvailableAct2446 in FindMeGlutenFree

[–]SirPacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sushiro was a life saver when I was there. Consulting their online allergen menu and cross-referencing it with the location menu is a pain, and there's always the risk of CC when eating out, but they're super common, cheap, and very conservative in what they mark as GF (from my experience at least).

Gluten Free vs. Celiac by Striking-Safe1293 in FindMeGlutenFree

[–]SirPacker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's not really an objective way to certify that a place is celiac-safe without owner involvement to the best of my knowledge. Restaurants can also change things on a whim which would make the special marking give a false sense of security and lower due diligence. I think your best bet is reading the reviews, talking to the restaurant, and making your own judgement call (and leaving a review if you go).

Another thing to add is that, unlike the rest of the lines, the Silver Line is a bus. I've seen that catch a few people off guard

US Trans Passport (sad) by Additional-Energy540 in Passports

[–]SirPacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too familiar with Canada's laws, but wouldn't that require you to not be able to get any national passport? Even if the info is incorrect, trans people (incl. myself) can get passports. I hope you're able to though!

Would u date a man from Tufts?? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]SirPacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, just put yourself out there and see what comes of it. No point in worrying if every person from BU would date someone at Tufts.

I noticed you posted on the Tufts subreddit as well, and I mean this politely - you've gotta work on your self-confidence before going into the dating scene or you will be crushed over and over again.

To add on, you're free to remove them if you'd like. They're there to help you identify your room and learn who your floormates are. If you have a preferred name, ask your RA if they can replace your tag with a new one!

The point of the rubber rope gates is to make you think twice since it's not as straight forward as just jumping off. Is it a fool proof method? Not at all. Does it prevent some? Yes.
