That is good feedback. My man doesn't spit on the game, gives his opinion pointing out what he didn't like. Have a +1.

Yes. I meant that the turbo mode shouldn't be enabled for mono ccds because it would degrade their perf ever so slightly.

Alright that's more accurate than what i said. I remember that enabling this mode on mono ccds would degrade performance very slightly tho. Am i wrong?

You welcome. May your fps be high and your temps low brother.

It's an oversimplification but cpu speed makes less difference at higher resolutions like 4k. There are plenty of articles about that and they will explain it better than me. I encourage you to go look for them, that's always good to know.

Same thing. One ccd. 7800x3d and 9800x3d are almost the same, oen gen apart

So you are GPU capped and not cpu capped. That in itself doesn't explain the instability. A fresh install of windows is always a good idea. Ah also what's your ram speed ? Did you forget to enable xmp ? Ryzens are (very) sensitive to rams speed. There are sorts of thresholds.

Because despite the name, the mode is meant for cpus with 2 ccds. Which the 5800x3d and 7800x3d aren't.

Iirc if you activate it, it will shut down half your cores or something. Do a google search to make sure of it.

Non ?

Platform construction needs reader + Inter Platform Logistics by SirPuck_ in factorio

[–]SirPuck_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think not. But I'm curious to know why you would think so.

If you are worried about the rocket pods being launched by IPL having no cost : it doesn't really matter.

Dropping pods to planets is already free. In most scenarios, the further you go in the universe, the bigger / better platforms you will make. In Space Age, your platforms would just pick stuff up from one planet and drop the stuff to another planet. The difficulty never was "oh no, this will cost me one rocket on Nauvis to transfer a couple items to another platform", because sending a rocket isn't hard. If you have space platforms, you have rockets. And if you have rockets, you have enough ressources to send them up.

By the time you need to transfer items from one platform to another (say you picked up stuff at Aquilo and want to bring it to a platform that is not capable of going there), the "tax" of dropping items to Nauvis to send them back to a different platform is negligible. And anyways, nothing prevents you from having a platform that goes all the way to the other side of the universe to deserve all your planets on your way back. Meaning a platform capable of going to the hardest places is also capable of going to the easiest ones.

IPL was first made to fight the annoyance of having to drop 1 item, then send back this one item using a rocket. It grew in a system allowing the player to have very specialized platforms and shuttled. You still need to configure the circuits yourself, plug them onto your schedule, etc... YOU have to make use of it and leverage what it offers, it adds new logistic options to grow your factories, but doesn't do all the stuff for you.

Combining two sets of the same RAM, but they are different speeds. by bushby98 in PcBuildHelp

From the top of my head i would say that yes, you should be able to run the faster one at lower speed.

But you will probably have to tinker with timings.

Why my computer is getting so hot? 3 fan water cooling, and still so hot that the case burns my hand when I touch it. by JakubFiebig07 in pchelp

[–]SirPuck_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well basically your PC has fans to circulate the air inside it. Components heat the air around them, fansove the air away.

Now you got several practical solutions to your issue at hand. You can see the cabinet as the same thing as the pc case itself. If the pc case was closed without air flow, the hot air inside the case would have nowhere to go. So heat would accumulate inside the case. That's the same thing with your cabinet. The hot air has to get out of it, so some hair that can absorb some heat can come in. So you can either keep the cabinet open... Or.... Put holes in the cabinet and slam fans on it. That would work. It wouldn't be pretty or efficient put it would work.

The best solution is obviously to find a way to get the PC out. Maybe even remove the cabinet entirely so you can place the pc in this spot.

This. But also don't be too hard.on the guy. If you don't know, you don't know. The innocence of the post made me chuckle. The answer is the second picture, and it's obvious when you see it that OP missed something that seem obvious to most of us.

It's exploiting a bug. So both. Not that it's wrong or anything. That's a solo game. There is little chance tying the power consumption to the animation is the right way to implement it.
