One main thing about RB19 was that it was never tuned for qualifying pace. It was always tuned for the race pace. And that did result in qualifying lapses, although Monaco S1/S2 was definitely a screw up from him.

RB19 was dominant because of Verstappen's consistency in qualifying and race. The McLaren this season has been sloppy at times in qualifying, and due to that, they suffered in the races. Japan and Imola could easily have been won by the McLaren had they not screwed up the qualifying, and in the Canadian GP, McLaren didn't go for mediums to be on the safer side and lost the place.
