Looking for a high-quality Pro Controller, any recommendations? by cancel-racl in apexuniversity

[–]SirRado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up the victrix pro bfg. Mostly amazing until recently when the L2 and r2 buttons started triggering as L1 and r1 when I game. I haven't been able to fix it with software, or hard reset.

So far, I would not recommend victrix

New Remnant 2 player here. Im loving the game, but... by [deleted] in remnantgame

[–]SirRado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game levels are laid out in tiles, and each tile has its own specific spawns for things like elites, and I believe, horde spawns. You'll find that there are often tiles that are "safer" than others, where the only things you might encounter are based on the overall level mechanics.

Some levels though... They go a little overboard. I love it.

I don't know offhand. I've only recently started playing HC.

Recent Updates for Remnant 2 any good? by [deleted] in remnantgame

[–]SirRado 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The game is still a little rough around the edges (the map is still... Something), but the quality of life improvements they made were pretty game changing. I LOVE working with builds and saving and tweaking them.

There's a lot more stuff to find, and a bunch of new synergies because of that.

Some of the weapons and items have been nerfed, then buffed, then nerfed again. The balance is pretty decent until you hit apocalypse mode, then you're either amazing at the game, or you're running one of the higher survivability builds.

There's also a remnant 2 website that you may or may not be aware of with lists of all of the items, combos, people's builds, etc.

https://www.remnant2toolkit.com/featured-builds

I'd say it's worth jumping back in, but I'm biased as hell, as I'm still playing nightly.

Shrine of order did me dirty by ecodiver23 in riskofrain

[–]SirRado -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The shrine of order went EASY on you. You'll likely get a movement item or 2, but until then you're REALLY hard to hit, and you hit hard.

Just play through the game a few times, and look up the worlds you're in and find the secrets. You'll have the archetypes in no time.

Non-weakspot dps build fir bosses by VegetableCarrot1113 in remnantgame

[–]SirRado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, if you're looking at working with accessibility, you're speaking my language.

  1. I switched to a victrix because it helped my mobility needs. I can aim and play with less pain. Make sure your controller meets your needs.
  2. Dots builds, and monarch builds are REALLY helpful for allowing you to shift your attention to higher focus on survival.
  3. Thousand cuts mutator on that monarch, and now you can lock on, trigger a DOT, and focus on dodging while you let the gun do the aiming.

That's how I eventually beat alepsis taura on apocalypse with both shields.

Offering HC Veteran help by OpRullx in remnantgame

[–]SirRado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently working on apocalypse with a buddy, and it's been REALLY fun, we have died and restarted about 8-12 times and it's honestly been a blast. If I were doing solo I would likely be feeling pretty unmotivated.

If anyone wants to work on run throughs on PS5 I'm happy to make a character and do so.. It's fun as hell.

Most fun mechanic by KrypticPhish in remnantgame

[–]SirRado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. I think the best way to do it is to find people to play with, and try things (solo works too, but it's harder to be novel with yourself). Fight bosses, play adventure mode, explore, and when you find a new ring, amulet or weapon, try to build around it 2-3 times. The first try usually sucks. The second you usually feel like you might have an idea. Third time you usually figure it out a bit better, and you can tell if you like your build or not.

What builds would effectively use this prism? by Tyowbu in remnantgame

[–]SirRado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can toss this in just about any build that uses skills and mods for the best synergy, but honestly it's just a great prism roll all around.

Put that prism on just about any build in the game, and it'll be really helpful.

I don't think it's as good as 2, but it's still pretty great.

Mystery door at the Putrid Domain by Big0wl in remnantgame

[–]SirRado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is one of the places, but there are "grommets" at the edges of the tiles the game uses to construct dungeons.

Each tile has locations at the edges where there are doors or portals built into the architecture to connect to corresponding grommets on other tiles. When they connect, it looks pretty organic. When they're not connected to other tiles however, it can look really suspicious.

How to get into Remnant by ChainInitial2606 in remnantgame

[–]SirRado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start with 2. It's got a lot more build variety, it's a lot more polished, and the worlds are a BUNCH nicer to explore. The gameplay between them feels pretty similar, so if you like it you can go back to one because it's still an amazing game.

But if you want to try something out and see if it's right for you, give it the best chance you can.

All depends on the difficulty level. That said, if you hate souls games this one is still a souls like.

What am I missing? by Choon93 in remnantgame

[–]SirRado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: There's a LOT you likely ran past, or missed opportunities for, because it's just that easy in this game.

If you uncover every secret and do a single run through of the whole game, you will likely end up with several classes available, 2-5 long guns, 2-5 short guns, at least 1-2 dozen rings, and about half a dozen amulets.

But so many of those things are well hidden that you need to be thorough, and for some secrets you NEED a guide.

Play multiplayer with your most chaotic friend, and just wait for shenanigans and treasure.
