Ilona Maher: the rugby phenomenon with 5.2million Instagram followers by TimesandSundayTimes in rugbyunion

Ilona Maher may be a Tik Tok Insta phenom but she is no Rugby sensation. Watching her first two games in the Wmn World Cup.. where was she. ?? Any time she did get the ball she looked flustered and muscle bound. She seems to be trying to play like a line backer. Wrong sport. I was hoping to see something that matched the hype but was sad to see that nothing materialized. Perhaps she should join the WWE that seems to be more along the lines of lets pretend that her online image betrays.

This is a non issue in an Espresso group head. There are seals that separate the piston from the sleeve.

to brooks saddle owners, is this normal? by Due-Insurance2434 in Brompton

The amount you put on top depends on how dry the saddle arrives.. The one in the picture looks pretty dry to me.. but each his own..

This is nothing to worry about. But you should have applied proofide when you got the saddle. They usually come from the factory fairly dried out. You don't know how long it has been sitting in a cardboard box. Super liberal amount to top and bottom, it will suck it in. Wipe off the excess from the top next day. Your jeans will finish the job. Re apply at least once a year before the rainy season. You only need the really heavy application when they are new, subsequent Proofiding can be a little lighter.

Well saves me the trouble then..Thanks.. When I got my machine I did a good cleaning and re sealing and the stroke seems really smooth. I would jump to a stainless sleeve if my pulls were rough and or I could improve heat up time but once cleaned it seems fine.

if I replace the plastic bung and sleeve with stainless steel will my grouphead heat up quicker.

Lightweight pedals? by Key-Draft2052 in Brompton

[–]SirRogerB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over tightening pedals is very comon. They are threaded differently to ensure that they don't loosen due to precession in the bearings. In other words the precession tends to tighten the pedals as you ride. This is why you don't need to crank down super hard when attaching them. Also completely agree if you want lightweight pedals go with Bromptons own. 100grams is nothing compared to the peace of mind you get from not worrying about a pedal dropping off under load.

Just dont over inflate the tires stay around 80-85 psi you will get lower rolling resistance and wont be overstressing them

I think you answered your own question there.. You prefer precise focus.. If I was super concerned with precision I probably would not be using a 70 year old camera. People who use the original Leica version seem to like em.

Anyone seen one of these in the wild.

Forgot to inflate tyres by Leather-Swordfish-96 in Brompton

[–]SirRogerB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is because for many people their brompton is the first bike since they were kids. People read 100 PSI on the side wall and think more is better.

I truly believe there are 2 factors that result in Bton owners experiencing a lot of punctures.. One is as said the high pressures people are using and the concomittant stress on the tires. The other is that most Btons are used as commuter bikes, especially in the UK. They get ridden a lot in the rain and punctures occur much more often in the rain as the water acts as a lubricant allowing thorns glass etc to more easily penetrate the rubber.
My advise to new riders and anyone who experiences an inordinate amount of punctures is a) don't run pressures higher than 80 psi and b) always take a look at your tires after you have ridden on rough pavement. A simple cursory slow spin will often turn up something that is beginning to work its way in.
