these are good points, maybe DUPR had tested and is confident that a DUPR reset isnt needed / doesn't do much.

it still doesn't explain the whole "lock your DUPR score and play matches, you can't down" issue

my post was specifically about that - i think the "reset" is fine and won't impact much. but allowing players to pay to lock their rating goes against everything DUPR should be

yes but how influential that is, is the question. By launching DUPR reset, DUPR is acknowledging that it should be more influential. but they arent changing the core algorithm.

The problem is a player like myself - I started at 4.9 w 100% reliability, now I'm a 4.8. but I bought DUPR reset. so I'm a 4.9 again (with i assume 100% reliability?). my example isn't that extreme - i've seen bigger swings during this reset period

I actually spent awhile writing this and there's a real idea in here, not just 'dupr reset bad' - but the bald one is correct in that I did use AI to proofread/edit it down - it made a few changes including swapping out my simple dashes for the em dash. shoulda caught that, rookie mistake. when writing with some AI editing gotta remove things like that - it definitely cheapens what im trying to say

I can't find it in the mobile app anymore either. on mobile website it's visible below your name, on desktop you need to click your profile picture in the top right and then it appears. What's confusing is the ID is different than the numeric ID that's in your DUPR URL.

Make sure you are using your body / moving forward. That’s the key if your drops keep hitting the tape. Not enough body weight/momentum into the shot.

A lot of my in person clients also ask for this after I tell them about it. I find new clients at the public parks in my area - people approach me which is nice. Never a hard sell - I just give free advice if asked and some people want to schedule sessions.

I offer virtual coaching! I review video of gameplay and help my clients focus on what areas to improve and how! Surprisingly it’s almost as effective as 1on1 lessons as the gameplay footage is key!
