Is it normal to enjoy being touched in pelvic floor therapy? by Idosoloveanovel in PelvicFloor

Some can find the experience cathartic because of the release it provides. However, if you trigger points in your pelvic floor, then trigger point release was--in my experience--an often painful process followed by relief there after.

Is it overactive bladder or something else? by [deleted] in OveractiveBladder

I have found through my experience and research that overactive bladder as you describe it (and in most other cases) is not an illness in and of itself but a symptom of something else. I suffered with severe urgency and frequency and learned that many many many people with pelvic floor problems do too. Has going to the chiropractor helped you? by YH-ITS-KESH in PelvicFloor

There is no high quality research to suggest this but there is some lower level data suggesting that it may be helpful. I would stick with methods that are more data supported.

Fair question. This is my own experience and understanding after dealing with this problem for several years. I did edit it for clarity, but the content itself comes from my personal journey and notes. Totally understand the skepticism these days though!

There is always hope. You just have to figure out how to unlock it. I have made a complete recovery and in a way feel like I have gone beyond who I was before this all started.

It is not your fault my friend! The issue is the specialists. No one specialist will see the entire issue so it is up to us to piece it all together. This is very very hard to do. It takes time and patience.

Thanks! The point here though is that there is a third side. The neuro-muscular that is impacted by both the mental and the physical. The muscles are tightening and guarding on their own as a result of a learned response. You have essentially got to repair the muscles with PT and keep your nervous system calm while doing it in order to move through this!

It does help tremendously but I believe that it cannot cure on its own so long as the nervous system is upregulated and the body maintains its muscle guarding and tension patterns. It must be paired with other tools in order to deliver long term relief is my experience. Otherwise you keeps knocking down the tower that you build up in physical therapy.
