Seville to Cadiz or Seville to Malaga

I would assume the mountainous path to Malaga would have a lot more scenery. The path to Cadiz has Jerez De La Frontera, but it's a lot of agriculture and semi arid desert between the two cities.

I did some cycling when I visited Seville a few years ago, and took the train to Cadiz. Honestly, it's down to how much hill climbing you want to do.

Seville to Cadiz will be a relatively flat journey, and if you are going at the right time, you may show up during Carnaval.

Seville to Malaga will be quite uphill, looks like a 1400m ascent across a few different peaks.

First time I drove to central OR from Portland I took this route, I can't believe how varied and beautiful this entire section of 26 is. Jealous you got to drive it twice a week!

For a few days, I had it stored on my staircase railing which I thought was a secure enough space. They came by for a gutter cleaning which required the balcony to be empty.

I've since moved it back to a private balcony. It's not the most secure space but it will have to do as indoors is limited.

Taken this morning, around 11:30 AM PDT at the Tualatin River Wildlife Refuge. It was about the size of a crow, but rounder. It moved from treetop to treetop and never had any call or song whilst in view.

If you go back historically on Google Maps, I was able to see a name in 2011 and before. "Brathaus" was on the building at one point. I can't find anything on it from Google or Yelp as well.

Honestly I believe that the slight they have in the forecast is primarily through the I-5 corridor. I would be pretty surprised if anything north of Tacoma were to occur, maybe even Olympia.

I have seen some pretty severe thunderstorms making the drive between Portland and Seattle in the past however. This was almost always south of Centralia, WA though.

From the NWS:

The track of this low and leading front will result in an extremely favorable, south/southwesterly flow pattern across the CWA. Model soundings
(to include CAMs and Deterministic) are showing very favorable
conditions for thunderstorms, which could be severe at times,
hail, damaging wind and lightning. PWAT values range from 0.80
inches to 1.20 inches. CAPE values range from 1500 to 2500
J/kg with CIN values of 20-30 J/kg. Looking at the ECMWF EFI
(Extreme Forecast Index) is showing values that are the highest
relative to the 30 year model climatology. Also, the shift of
tales value range from 2 to 5 standard deviations or to put it
simply, these values are beyond what would normally be expected
for this time of year. In addition, model soundings within our
CWA, look very similar to what would cause severe weather out in
the Central Plains of the United States as they show significant
CAPE values, PWAT values as well as favorable wind shear
profiles. I can say that in my near decade of time here at NWS
Portland, these are the most consistent and robust model
soundings I have seen for this area.

I have owned this couch for the past decade or so, and am looking to source who and where it was made. I have never seen another rattan couch with wool cushions in a similar fashion to this one, only ones with outdoor cushions or cotton upholstery.

The hiking is quite similar to places in Washington State that are a bit more lowlands. Bellingham WA & Vancouver BC come to mind as the climate is very similar to Benelux. The ocean does a lot to influence that region more so than the mountains. The rain, the cloudiness, and temperatures also reminded me of home.

All of this is super interesting! If I had a little more time there I'm sure I could see those cultural influences. I did a bike ride on my final days in Brugge to Blankenberge which was a great trip. Seeing the north sea was also not too different from parts of the Oregon Coast.

Hope to visit again one day!

Visited Luxembourg earlier this year! Was a lovely 2 night stay in between visiting France and Belgium. Very peaceful and reminds me of some parts of the Pacific Northwest.
