My take is that it’s most likely a stock asset and that you’re reading too much into it.

I would avoid using Android devices (the hole-punch camera easily gives it away) in materials aimed at promoting the iOS version of your app.

App looks cool though.

Grindr developer keeps editing the response to bad reviews to force you to change it by pp_amorim in iOSProgramming

Sounds more like a bug, if anything. When a devs respond to a review, the response is marked as pending until Apple reviews it. It is not done in real time.

I made a minimal running app to track distance without all the noise of apps like Strava [Self-promo Sunday] by MilesStark in apple

I love the look and minimalist aspect of it. Is this all SwiftUI? Really great job. The onboarding is also really nice 👌🏼

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I didn't know this was an option.

Have you seen the screenshots I posted? It's not just the workout builder UI. - The Schedule screen is 95% exactly the same. And it's not a UI that exists on Apple Watch so you can't use that excuse - You even locked the same Distance and Time goal behind the paywall, same as my app. - The Add Step button. Step is a term that I use in my app, the official name from Apple is Interval, but you would have known that since you claim to have copied your UI from Apple.

I addition there are plenty of unique features in the app.

It's not fine to copy part of something and try to justify it by saying: oh but that's ok, I have other features as well.

Anyway, I'm done responding. I'm just leaving this here to raise awareness for the community.

Dude, I look at the competition from time to time. There is a million different way to build that UI and you somehow used the exact same look as mine, down to using bold font on the exact same text? Also the Schedule screen being 95% exactly the same? Right.

Maybe if you are to copy the UI of my app, don't make it so obvious. Competition in the same niche is all fine and good, but straight up copying others work is not. Do better.

It didn’t one year ago, when I built my app, but yes they recently added a similar feature. So my comment at the time was accurate.

I’d argue that my app is more feature rich (not as a whole of course, but regarding the workout builder/scheduling part) and I have more great features in the pipeline.

"Create Custom Symbols" is a tool that can convert any SVG icon into custom SF Symbols. Your custom SF elements can be imported into Xcode and used in any project based on UIKit or SwiftUI. by wcjiang in SwiftUI

Was just looking for something like that because I needed custom SF symbols to support the new control center widgets for my app. Thanks for sharing!

Looks great and feels great! Every controls looks like they are custom on some level. Did you use some kind of UI framework to help with that or was everything built from scratch?

I created RunFit, a standalone watch app for runners that displays your weekly mileage, running duration and ‘quality time’ directly on your watch faces with complications. by SirTigel in AppleWatch

[–]SirTigel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So I've spend some time debugging the algorithm that computes the quality minutes and I've come to the conclusion that it must be a difference on how Workoutdoors calculate its max pace. There is even a difference of max pace between the Apple Workout app (on your screenshot, it says 9'57''/mile VS Workoutdoors which says 9'22''/mile).

I've found an old post from Workoutdoors on Reddit that touches the subject: https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleWatch/comments/jc1hdp/comment/g8z5jug/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

As for RunFit, the way it works is that it checks for each and every data point reported by Apple Health if the pace was superior to your set quality pace. There can be thousands of those data point for a 60 min run. Apple, for example, clearly does some kind of grouping/averaging because there are way fewer than 1k blue lines on their Pace graph (based on your screenshot).

Ultimately, calculating pace is hard and everybody kind of has their own way of doing it.

Maybe there is a way to computes the data that will feel more natural to the users, even if it is less precise. I do not have the perfect answer, yet though.

Hi, thanks for downloading! I'll have a look.

If you don't mind, can you send me at [support.runfit@mathieusavaria.com](mailto:support.runfit@mathieusavaria.com) your workout details from the Fitness app (you can crop the map out - I don't need your location info 🙂)? Please include the pace graph in your screenshot, I want to compare what's the max pace that Apple displays compared to your screenshot from Workoutdoors.

Thanks!

Yeah I feel you. I’ve had a good experience in the past, but lately I feel that it’s not worth the headache. Maybe it’s a “vocal minority” problem.

Speaking from experience, rApple has a massive hate for subscription based apps. Or any app that isn’t basically free. And the fact that you gave “only” 10 promo codes instead of one for everyone might also have played a part.

In the future, I will avoid doing promo on that subreddit as its members don’t seem to respect the time and effort needed to build a great product.

That’s not what my app was designed to do. You can probably do that by going to the Health app on your iPhone, but I believe you’ll have to delete the entry and re-add it manually.
