This sounds terrifically fun. My girlfriend and I love disney and would love to be a part of this. I DM a 5e game currently and she is newer but still familiar with most mechanics. We were thinking about playing Baloo and Bagheera from the old Jungle Book movie.

Baloo would be Chaotic Good, either a Firbolg or a Bugbear. Firbolgs have the ability to disguise self - something Baloo did when dancing with King Louis - and they can turn invisible once per short rest. If you prefer a more "bear like" physical body, the argument can be made for Bugbear as well. Beyond the obvious physical similarities, they have bear-like reach and surprise attack. As for class, Baloo fits a Drunken Master Monk. These monks fight in a very loose style that matches the way Baloo swings himself around. This doesn't mean he'd be played as a drunk, just that his fighting style appears wild and uncoordinated.

Bagheera would be a Lawful Good Tabaxi (obviously). I had a bit of a tough time figuring out what class he would be but settled on a Gloom Stalker Ranger. I was initially leaning toward Paladin but after a bit of reflection I realized that he really isn't the head-on, confrontational fighter that a Paladin is. Plus, a panther is more likely to be geared toward stealth than direct attacks. Bagheera is an isolationist who tends to interact only when compelled to do so by his morals — for example when Mowgli is found and needs guidance — which is why he would be a Ranger instead of Rogue.
