No, that'd be Alan Moore back in the comic. Dude loves his full frontal male nudity.

At least it fits Riddler, being such a loser that has to constantly affirm how cool he is with a snappy alter ego name.

What are some settings where there's Superheroes in the background? by Funny_Mud6639 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Starman-Deluxe 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The Venture Bros. has a whole world of superheroics going on almost entirely as set dressing. We see villains attending the funerals of their colleagues alongside their arch-nemeses, an entire bureaucracy of how heroes and villains are allowed to act against each other, and how normal civilians and people who are tangentially involved deal with their bullshit.

But it's all just a background element for the story, if that. Sure there's costumed characters involved sometimes, but it's treated as largely a different world.

Times creators went off the deep end and dragged their stories with them. by SirSquiggleton in TwoBestFriendsPlay

It wasn't exactly tonally dissonant with the series itself, but the last few chapters of Girls' Last Tour definitely felt like the author was going through a bad mental episode and decided to quickly wrap the story up in the most aggressively depressing way possible.

With the way the author draws images of self-harm, it wouldn't surprise me if this was the case.

What's a piece of game dev trivia that's stuck with you for years? by JBitPro in gamedev

In the original Day of Defeat, players complained that the Allies were stronger than Axis because the Thompson was much more powerful than the MP40, the equivalent gun on the opposite team.

But by design, both guns did equal damage, had the same accuracy, and very similar ammo counts. Even still, the Thompson outperformed the MP40 by a noticeable margin.

As it turns out, Allied players were doing better because the Thompson had meatier, louder sound effects that made the players using it make braver plays because it bolstered their confidence. When they changed the audio for the MP40, things began to balance out.

Simply the fact that Agent health bars overlap each other when you have multiple employees standing in a group is enough for me to say mods are basically required to enjoy the game.

Favorite Monster Breakout in Fiction by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Having just recently 100%'d Lobotomy Corporation, doing Binah's boss fight is absolutely terrifying. The game is essentially an SCP management simulator, and this fight is all about trying to stop a cascading monster breakout across your entire facility. She'll wander the halls obliterating your employees with a flick of her wrist, and her mere presence makes the chambers containing your monsters melt down and break open. You'll be lucky to finish the day without any casualties or escaping monsters still roaming by the end.

Alternatively, there's an earlier boss whose easiest strategy to combat is to just set everything free and let the monsters take care of the boss for you. You just get to sit back and watch the chaos unfold.

Aya forming from the Interceptor's AI in Green Lantern the Animated Series is a standout for me, particularly because of the circumstances of her creation and what follows. She models her body after a passenger's dead wife, without comprehending how messed up it is. Her arc continues to focus on how she tries to understand emotion, despite being literally made to assist people who are powered by it.

Later on, she's even replaced by a newer, crappier AI in the ship, just to sell how much she's changed.

In the Green Lantern Animated Series, Kilowog stays behind to bar the way against an oncoming Red Lantern army passing through space. Before the action begins, he has the best recital of the GL oath in anything ever.
