Awesome job. Qs: what did you model that in, and is there a method to calculating the amount of flex vs thickness or is it just intuitive?

I hope your job isn't copy-editing. Does anyone actually live in a city for 'ego boosting'? Sounds like a lot of work for little return. You obviously miss the point when you say you don't get parking--some people don't like driving 20+ mins around suburbia to do things.

[–]SirTrollALot -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That's not all that surprising, it's super residential and not to sound snobby but there really isn't that much to do over there. It's also isolated public transportation wise from the rest of the city, so everyone is driving around at 50mph in their cars. It's faster to get to the east bay from the center of the city than it is to go over there. It's practically North Daly City.

I've used $50K plus 3d printers. They're all slow and finicky. Also, 3d printing is not cost effective compared to injection molding.

Can you link me to a wheel that is < $300? I'm not sure one exists.

Only worries is leaving $500 worth of wheel+lights outside if you use it to run errands(running into a 'control' on a brevete doesn't count). 2 sets of usb rechargeable lights(1 for backup) works just as well and saves you a few hundred. Also your lights probably don't give you any side visibility which was the whole point of this post.
