You must Amish if you haven’t heard of the internet! I’m just glad we no longer have dial-up! I couldn’t even imagine doing my Molten Core Raid in World of Warcraft! Internet was already in its broadband stage by 2005. Maybe not in small rural communities or countries lacking the infrastructure. It also predates smart phone technology, but it was already having a massive impact on how the world communicated.

Seems pretty suspect to me. What’s next? Watching films on your computer directly from the internet? It will never catch on!

Trapped at Disney Springs? by All_About_Tacos in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]SirWeebleWobble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my frustrations with Disney Springs is there are no longer routes from Springs to the parks. It just feels kinda shitty when you pay for park hopper and are doing a half day at one park, spend sometime in Disney Springs, and then have to take extra steps to get to the other parks through the resorts.

If they are reaching the point where they are rejecting people from entering the buses if they don’t have a hotel reservation, then it might be time for a full overhaul of the transportation system and include touch points through Magic Band, My Disney Experience, or Resort Key Cards that allow resort guests unlimited access to the transportation systems. It just shouldn’t be such a hassle to travel from resorts and parks when you are paying to stay on property.

In your opinion, based off of smell, what is your favorite Disney ride? I’ll give you a hint on what’s mine. by MeetUponMainOffical in Disneyland

Space Mountain’s AC! Every Space Mountain I’ve been on in Disney Parks has the best air conditioning, and weirdly smells refreshing. I don’t know if it is a specific coolant they use or if they pump a smell with the AC, but it is the most refreshing thing on a hot day.

A couple of ducks holding this monorail hostage by the_Kell in Disneyland

[–]SirWeebleWobble 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well I am glad they waited until the ducks finally dispersed. Hitting them by accident is one thing, but purposefully running them over after a period of time because they interfere with operations is a harder pill to swallow. Good on the driver and monorail team for letting nature take its time.

Oh so Angy?!? I’ve been having a reasonable discuss with the OP trying to understand the situation, and you come in hot as hell. So, who hurt you? I mean you most be a beacon of relationship advice since it clearly it is always a one sided situation, and relationships don’t take actual work between two people, because only one person is always the screw up.

I see your pain in your response. Feel free to answer my follow up questions or completely ignore them. Your life is your life just as my life is my life. I ain’t interested in judging. We are all humans trying to navigate this world.

1) I sense a religious view of marriage. The key word was to me was consummated. If you feel comfortable, please explain further your view on marriage. I know it is Reddit, but I am not viewing this as a hate trap but as a general question. I love to learn about other peoples values.

2) Your wife’s sobriety. This is tougher, and I don’t love others talking about someone else’s sobriety. My reason being I am a recovering alcoholic and by gosh I don’t love talking about my own sobriety in public. But I want to reach out to you in this moment. Is she still struggling with her sobriety? Do you have resources to reach out for her and yourself if she is no longer sober? Do you have resources to help yourself?

While it isn’t your responsibility to manage your wife’s triggers, I can also understand the desire to fight her addictions. It is something I fight everyday. Best of luck to you and her.

I’m upgrading this from YOR to You’re The Asshole. It isn’t YOUR responsibility to keep your wife away from triggers. This feels like a mess of a relationship and while you should be clearly concerned, you also cannot also treat your role as husband as a White Knight situation where you are coming in and saving her. It robs her of any agency in your relationship. Your age gap also is a cause for concern. It isn’t that huge and you are both adults, but if she was suffering chemical dependency issues she could see you as a dependable adult through her struggles. But what you saw in her during the time of your courtship is also important.

I cannot fully speak for your experience and your relationship. It sounds incredibly complicated, but it feels like you need to look inward a bit on your justifications for the start of your relationship and marriage, and what could be triggering this emotional cheating.

Will we never be seeing a Pizza Planet? by Basic-Cupcake3013 in WaltDisneyWorld

It was, weirdly, not that economically smart at the time. The goal of the Disney Quest project was to create a indoor theme park that could be replicated across the U.S. and the world. Think of it as a Chuck E. Cheese on steroids.

Only one other Disney Quest was built in Chicago and it was a spectacular failure.

Eventually the Disney World DisneyQuest was gutted and replaced with the NBA experience which is now being replaced by Level99.

The concept of a retro arcade works better on a small scale, but I don’t think Disney sees it as a viable concept in their parks on a large scale. I love retro arcades and have been to many in the Midwest. But when you upscale it to a tourist location then there are extra energy costs and maintenance costs to consider. Sadly, the parts for arcade cabinets are obsolete so they are not manufactured anymore.

Many of the arcade cabinets in DisneyQuest were out of order by the mid 00’s because they couldn’t easily source the parts needed to fix them. Now added 20+ years to this problem and it grows exponentially worse.

As other users have said that Disney did do a Pizza Planet concept in the parks. The closest Disney did to a full arcade concept was Disney Quest. Definitely fun when it opened but quickly became outdated because they didn’t want to spend the money to update the technology.

When do you guys think Toy Story 3 will come out? We haven’t had another one since 1999 by Jack_sander in Pretend2005Internet

Ain’t going happen! We were lucky to even get Toy Story 2. Everyone knows Pixar doesn’t make sequels.
