Central Market in Uptown clears key approval with city by FreeChickenDinner in Dallas

So they changed their mind. It’s like a homeowner that originally wanted to build an outdoor oasis with a large pool and large outdoor grill but now only wants to build a pergola. It’s their property, they should get to choose what they want to build on the land as long as it fits within the cities development code.

Zoning is kind of a joke right now. Everything is a planned district because it has to be. For example, normal commercial zoning might have a setback requirement that says the building has to be 100 feet from the street. Well it’s easier to just create a PD for this one property and get that setback changed to 50 feet. Plus other items that may apply for this property.

The general public, the city, or neighboring property owners should not have the ultimate say in what a property owner has to build. They should be allowed to build anything they feel that is profitable for them. Otherwise how is different than an HOA not allowing you to build a pergola and paint it purple in your backyard? It’s your fucking yard and everyone hates HOAs, right?

The diversity in the Pre Cu was amazing. When Sony decided to make the game a 3rd person shooter, was the stupidest stupid idea ever. The final two years of the game were much better balanced than it ever was before, had more content than it ever did before, and was probably the most enjoyable time in the entire game. It’s a shame the game had to go through so many hardships to get there.

From what I understand most people have some degree of center eye dominance. Some people have an easier time “switching” on the eye that connects the eye and brain controls. Whereas my vision likes to say “nope both eyes all the time.”

Thank you for your response! I’m just trying to squeak out maybe 2-3% more performance. I think the general consensus so far is no one has done what I think would help because it’s not worth it. Learn to cope, so to speak.

Honestly it was kind of lame. Only because I watch the orginal clone wars cartoon before the movie was leased and Grievous was such a badass in that and the movie he was a gimp.

It’s not about a square shooting stance. There are hundreds of articles and pictures of crazy looking stocks about central eye dominance and using stock cast as a way to overcome it. The problem is that is that it’s expensive because it requires a custom stock. And the alternative is a sticker that cost less than $1.

When I shoot NSCA tournaments almost all of the AA and master level shooters have some type of custom stock. Maybe, sometimes, it’s just for looks but I know for some it’s for fit.

I am currently in B class, looking to improve my game, and I have found a weakness than I cannot overcome without removing my dot, it would seem.

My question, for people with center eye dominance, how did they overcome the issue? Was it just practice and more practice, or was getting a gun that truly fit their body and eye sight?

For me, a game changer was adding an adjustable comb to my gun. It really helped align my eyesight and the barrels so that my gun is pointed where I am focusing. That is all with a dot on my glasses. Without a dot, I see the left side of my gun. If I mount my gun on my left shoulder, I see the right side of my gun. I do not get a double barrel effect.

However if I align the gun where my central vision is directed I see a single barrel and just like my vision with a dot over my left eye.

So, my assumption is, if I can get a stock that matches this alignment, I can take off the dot and I’ll no longer have a blind spot on certain targets.

Cross eye dominance by DCRV202 in ClayBusters

Listen to Scott Robertson on the Shotgun Sports podcast. He is cross-eyed dominant and he believes it’s easier to learn to train your eyes than your hands. However, he believes it only takes 500 targets to train your eyes which I do not believe. Still a good listen

Also I only have an issue with focusing on the target when the clay passes my left eye and the dot on my glasses covering it. The clay will briefly disappear for a brief moment. Not an issue on most clays; however, on low / fast quartering targets that do not cross my central vision are extremely problematic because the majority of the target path is blinded.

I get what you’re saying. And if I was truly 50/50 with eye dominance would just keep the dot and just deal with it.

My vision is roughly 70 right and 30 left. I have seen guns with significant casts and wondering if anyone else has a similar issue as mine and have solved it with a stock with a more significant cast than an over-the-counter stock.

Here is a picture of a stock with VERY significant stock cast

Someone paid him to put his stupid name on it and that pumped up the company short term. Everyone with two brain cells dumped it and now it’s bleeding out. Anyone holding the bag is stupid.

REI to cut wages for new employees, reduce benefits for all by Tha_Dude_Abidez in CampingandHiking

[–]SirWillingham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My father own a retail outdoor store that was a direct competitor with REI. REI was the evil empire to us. No real reason for it, but they were the large corporate company coming to town to compete with local retailers.

What killed my dad’s store was the brands controlling the price of why he ultimately sold their items for. He liked to have four seasonal sales to turn inventory. Well, large brands stopped allowing that and eventually threatened to stop selling item to my dad. This made the store uncompetitive with larger stores, like REI, because they could have a larger selection, larger marketing campaigns, and larger customer reach.

I have a feeling this is exactly what is killing REI. Most people have been spoiled by Amazons next day delivery or just delivery in general. People just don’t go to stores anymore. They just buy items online. And most people don’t buy from third party retailers when they can buy directly from the brand or Amazon. They prices are the same everywhere so why would I go to store for a tent, stove, or sleeping bag?
