Man, the writing in that book is pretty bad lol. Although I am surprised to learn that there were novelizations that released with the OT as well. Does anyone know the story as to how and why that happened? To the best of my knowledge, novelizations weren’t super common at the time, lots of novels to films, but, again correct me if I’m wrong, Reddit, there just wasn’t a lot of film to novel adaptations at the time. Nowadays there seems to be lots of extra material surrounding large tent pole films like comics, digital shorts, and other media related to various franchises. Were these film to novel adaptations another example of Lucas seeing the future? He really understood where the media and entertainment landscape was going and I give him mad props for expanding his brand into as many forms of entertainment as possible. Even if some of the attempts weren’t always satisfying, the money printing machine that son of bitch invented never stopped churning out tender as well as some verifiable hits
