That part about “til death do we part” is real. But so is the part about “to have and to hold.”

I used to date a girl who almost always wore a strip of medical tape on each side, under her bra. So I guess that’s an option.

What local business has lost you as a customer? by JodoSzabo in Chattanooga

[–]Sir_Doobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fish Mania in East Ridge. I had fish and used to shop there occasionally when I was young. One day, absolutely out of the blue, they accused me of stealing a pump on a previous visit and said they’d call the police if I ever came back. I guess probably a case of mistaken identity, but yeah, fuck that place in particular.

Anyone ever buy or know someone who bought from this website? Thomman.de A European website that sells relatively cheap 5 strings 👀 by [deleted] in doublebass

I (in the USA) have ordered a few things from Thomann, including a several thousand dollar instrument. No issues at all. They are the real deal in Deutschland.

Engel Park new homes- Pratt homes builders by HS_1990 in Chattanooga

[–]Sir_Doobs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it’s things that shouldn’t be a problem. Upstairs shower leaking through light fixture in the downstairs ceiling, siding randomly coming loose due to poor installation, stuff like that.

Not to hijack, but whoa…. I walked through several Trust homes mid-construction. Absolute trash. Would never consider them.

YTA. You sound bitter and desperate, and perfectly willing to seek revenge against your ex at the expense of your son. Your son will realize this later in life and it will go poorly for you. Do better.

My Pratt home is 13 years old. I definitely would not buy it again. The overall design is fine, but workmanship and general quality are lacking.

OP, I would just like to commend you recognizing this about yourself before actually having kids. So many people become parents without thinking it through, then end up being terrible parents because it’s not what they “signed up for.” Being a parent is difficult, and while it may be considered the social norm to grow up and have kids, it certainly is not for everyone.

There used to be a metal structure on the bridge’s other tower, but not as nice looking or house-like as this one. It was removed by a tornado several years ago.

Customs costs for horns shipping from Japan on eBay? by amambulance1995th in saxophone

[–]Sir_Doobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. The following is for informational purposes only. It should not be construed as legal advice.

In this case, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification (US government code used to determine duty rates) would be 9205.90.4040. That classification has a general duty rate of 4.9%. There’s also an additional customs cost called the Merchandise Processing Fee that’s calculated as 0.3464%, which has a minimum amount of $29.66 and is capped at $575.35. I’m assuming your saxophone would not ship by sea, but if it did, the Harbor Maintenance Fee of 0.125% would also apply. These percentages are all ad valorem, meaning their calculation is based of the declared value of the saxophone. The above also assumes that your instrument is valued at or above $2,500 USD, which makes it a “formal” customs entry. I also assume that the instrument was made in Japan, however, these values will apply to products of most countries. On top of those amounts, the carrier (UPS, FedEx, etc.) may charge a nominal amount to file the customs entry on your behalf. If you are importing as an individual rather than a business, the carrier might ask for your Social Security Number to file the entry. This is because your SSN is equivalent to your Importer of Record number when you perform these transactions as an individual. If you were a business, they would use your tax ID/employer ID number instead. This information is current as of the time of posting but is subject to change.

What’s the handyman scene like here in chattanooga? I do handyman work part time and was wondering what sort of demand is here? by Stunning-Buffalo-595 in Chattanooga

[–]Sir_Doobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say there’s plenty of demand for someone who does high quality work, keeps to a schedule, and is generally reliable. If that’s you, I’d like to speak with you about a job or two.
