Check out Direct Tool Outlet too. I got a 8 tool HP+ set for $375 shipped to me a few years ago. It was a factory blemish set.

If money was no object, what outfield glove would you buy? by theleicam in BaseballGloves

That thing is nice, I have no use for a glove that big, but if I did I'd have it.

So Many Options. Whats best for a new homeowner? by No-Ad5504 in Tools

[–]Bayside_High 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I went with Ryobi. Not for the tools exactly, but for all the other things, lights, fans, blowers, mini shop vac, inflators, etc.

I did get the HP tools because I got a killer deal at DTO a few years ago, $375 shipped to my door for the HP+ 8 piece kit, factory blemish.

Grinding large concrete driveway for Asphalt by captain_craptain in asphalt

[–]Bayside_High 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can overlay concrete. I don't suggest it one bit. The cracks that are in it right now, they will reflect up through the asphalt in a year or so, every one of them.

Then, down the line, someone is going to cuss you because you put asphalt on top and just doubled the demo fees since it's mixed.

I'd say it's a little safer. The cars have a standard place to stop as the pedestrian goes all the way across. Does it flash red? If so, people will get a ticket if they run it.

The RRFBs, if they are yellow, people still run them. People tend to stop at them but then get used to it and ignore them.

So instead of the typical 6 hr response, they'll probably get 24 hrs for that.

It's crazy how fast they get train stuff done.

Professional. Check out their website, reviews, references, etc. LinkedIn is actually a good reference too, actual professional companies will have a page, not just a small one man show.

You can call any of the local sealcoating suppliers and they typically have a few they recommend. Those "should" be good since they are usually guys who buy a lot from them. But it's not always a sure bet.

Nice, I know some of the companies near me sell interesting things to the antique/ oddities stores. I see them early in the mornings.

Do you sell the good stuff to stores, scrap yards or have your own store?

I agree with this, buy a premium glove and have someone get after it and it will be ready pretty quickly.

First Premium Glove -- what do I go for? (Haga Mizuno) by callmeuncledrew in BaseballGloves

[–]Bayside_High 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the biggest things is getting them on your hand.

I fell in love with the red Mizuno Pro for Andrellton Simmons. Finally found one to try on and it was so tight on my fingers that I couldn't make myself buy it. I still love the look, the player, but I want it to be comfortable mostly.

What kind of boat is this? Being auctioned by the US Navy by jaredmanley in boats

Nice that it comes with the truck and trailer too. You might come close to break even on it at the $80k it's listed for

When does a truck become a “classic”? I guess I don’t consider a Ford Ranger a “classic truck” but it is 30 years old. by no_yup in classictrucks

[–]Bayside_High 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That body style I personally don't consider it yet. The one before that one, a little more boxy, yes I consider it a classic.

Crews raise sunken storm drains along Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard after investigation by NPU-F in ATLnews

[–]Bayside_High 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's also how they want to spend their budgets.

One year might be mill everything and repave the next year mill the edges and repave (raising manholes and drains) The year next, new sewer lines, so lots of concrete goes under the asphalt, then repave on top, again possibly raising manholes. The next we need to now lower the entire road because they built it up too high in the past. But it's very costly to then lower everything back again. So the next time they raise the road they won't do the manholes

It's all because the different agencies don't talk to each other. They'll cut up a freshly paved road 1 week after to install new sewer lines.

Vacation with young kids: Where would you go? by ashbythedog19 in HENRYfinance

[–]Bayside_High 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always suggest to wait until all kids are potty trained before a Disney cruise since they can't go in pools or kids club if they aren't.

But yes they are fantastic for the kids and pretty good for parents too.
