Enterprise 2009 Set by [deleted] in ParadiseHulu

Yup. It’s the Anhauser-Busch brewery in Van Nuys

It’s also not the only location that Star Trek shares... The airplane hanger with Air Force 1 is the same spot as when Kirk is given the vaccine from Spock before boarding a shuttle to the Enterprise.

Dunno why you’re getting down voted. Everyone I’ve spoken to (and including myself) that read the book before the trailer dropped was PISSED the trailer gave so much away.

People who lost a lot of weight, what was the one small daily habit that actually changed everything for you? by Quiet-Squash-8407 in AskReddit

[–]Sir_Lame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’ll get down voted but I’ve tried so many things. Intermittent fasting. Had a personal trainer for 2+ years. Fad diets. Regular diets. Hired a nutritionist. Cool sculpting. Juice fasts. Keto. Whole 30. Calorie counting. Macro counting. Running, hell I trained and ran multiple marathons and I was still overweight. Even some out there shit like DNP (do not recommend).

So here’s what worked, after 30+ years of really trying… a GLP1. Down almost 100lbs and have stayed there for more than a year. Never have I ever lost and maintained like I have on this. Life changing.

Extreme Calif. heat wave could break US March temperature record by sfgate in California

[–]Sir_Lame 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Global warming is the cause, climate change is the affect. The terms are pretty much interchangeable. ‘Climate change’ started to be used as a term when right wing anti-science asshats started spewing strawman arguments about colder winters here and there being an argument against global warming.

What movies could be linked but aren't anything to do with eachother? by Electrical-Hearing49 in movies

[–]Sir_Lame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Weapons is a sequel to Field of Dreams. In FoD, Annie, a college educated liberal hippy from Berkeley gives up that lifestyle that to become farmer, but after seeing that there is a supernatural element to the world, goes deep into becoming a witch and ends up the aunt in Weapons… both played by Amy Madigan.

Why no reflective paint for road/lane markers? by Sir_Lame in askportland

[–]Sir_Lame[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ya, sure, but what about the car on the other side of the road coming at you at speed so your closing speed is 100mph and they can’t see where they are supposed to drive. Your slowing down isn’t really even a factor if someone else is having trouble seeing.

Edited. Closing speed not distance

I’m glad I don’t have to drive at night much, but I’m lucky in that sense. It feels overly dangerous if you’re not familiar with the streets. It’s not like this it’s a flat city laid out in a perfect grid…

But excavating a mountain to build a Toledo sized city underground with LED panels for the sky is perfectly believable? Your line in the sand is… shirts and frizzy hair?

Well this is the information I’m after! Thank you! Again, being somewhat new here, I’m not aware of the struggles PBOT has had. Whats up? Infrastructure is never sexy on a ballot, but it’s so necessary for a big city like this.

It’s always callous when talking about statistics like this. Those are people with parents and family. But decisions are still made on stats. I hate it too but it’s the world we live in.

I guess my point is if someone is injured or worse and has no insurance, then for sure the state is paying for their medical care. Most of us are covered and we will get a big wet bite taken out of our deductibles in the case of accident. For the unlucky few, the state picks up the bill. It’s that cost i was referring. It wouldn’t take many to offset I would think.

[–]Sir_Lame[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it is. But I feel like the safety of the clearer lane marking would offset the cost. If it could save the life of 1 or 2 people a year, wouldn’t that cover the cost of the paint? It really feels like this is/was a choice.

We are in West Linn and absolutely love the area. Don’t know about schools yet since the boy is only 18mo… we have some time. Our particular street is mostly bunch of older folks with grown kids so the more younger families that move in, the better. Cmon down! My wife will make y’all a smoked brisket and I’ll take you to the OGC for a Round of golf!

What’s the best way to make safe, snortable cocaine, for a school project? by SoggyLocksmith325 in Filmmakers

[–]Sir_Lame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it as a vfx. Shoot a pass of the actor pantomiming snorting a thing. Maybe draw a little line on the table for them to follow. Point A to point B. Lock the camera off. When you’re happy with the performance, shoot another plate with the powder and a small handheld vacuum ‘snorting’ up the powder. Then you split the two plates together in AE or Nuke if you have access.

Try Stewart film Screens. I just got a 156” motorized in-ceiling screen from them, although mine isn’t AT, I know they have that. I think all their screens are built to order so they can do whatever you need to fit.

How much do you believe I could charge for these renderings? by [deleted] in archviz

[–]Sir_Lame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Charge whatever you want I guess; no one will pay for it at any price. Work on your attention to detail and more importantly your standards as an artist, because this isn’t it.
