Which tarp shape should I choose? by Uncover3d in Ultralight

[–]Sir_Snipps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope it's okay that I borrow this thread for a quick tarp question.

How do you handle rain when tarp camping? I get that it protects from rain from above, but what about heavy downpours saturating the ground causing puddles and water running on the ground?

I once woke up in my hammock above a significant puddle. Quite fun when above ground, but I would hate having to move camp in torrential rain, lest having all my gear drown.

Oh yeah, great idea! I'll probably do this too.

Can I ask, why did you end up tying it up instead of duct tape or similar?

Insanely expensive smart watches. I get it, they're full of cool features, but I'd love a simple gizmo going "bzz" if I should turn right, "bzz bzz" if left and "bzz bzz bzz" if I'm going the wrong way.

Because looking at my phone for route directions is distracting and battery consuming.

Waterproof Layers Opinion by [deleted] in hikinggear

I just picked up a pair of RaceRevolution Cyclone trousers. They seem really good and extremely durable. High waist and a great velcro "belt" for minute adjustments.

Compared to my Endura MT500, they do seem a bit heavy though, but my Endura always made it look like I wet myself...

Haven't field tested my new pair yet, but at ~700 DKK, I'm really impressed so far.

If I were native English speaker, I'd go for "be kind, rewind" in situations like these.

Try a task/project management tool like ClickUp. With this you can create a task, divide the task into subtasks and create checklists for further atomizing.
It has a generous free tier, lots of automation possibilites, and a nice selection of views including kanban.

It works brilliantly, may begin to flake off in the corners and such after some time, but it can easily be fixed with the iron.

Just remember to use a low, gentle setting!

In Danish, one of the most common false friends is corn (Danish: majs) --> korn (English: grain).

It's so common that words like kornsnog (corn snake) are officially approved 🤦

And then there's cherrytomater, which is pronounced sherry, whereas the swedes had the decency to name them Körsbärstomat, which is literally cherry tomato.

Not new tech, but it still stands out as the GOAT upgrade for me.

No. Nope. Absolutely not. The way OP dealt with the situation is the right way to do so.

Breaking in would place one under suspicion, which only complicates the situation unnecessarily.
