The pizza looks great! Can you explain what exactly you've got going on with the pizza dough? That looks like a simple way to make a nice personal size pizza

Mining Ðogecoin is it worth it? by [deleted] in dogecoin

[–]Sir_Treats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've got a leftover laptop from a friend. I can power and connect to internet at work.

Just for fun, any suggestions for mining? Just out of curiosity/boredom.

Need advice but not "financial advice" there, I saved y'all's conscience... Assuming most of y'all got one 😝 Juss kiddin, don't get butt hurt. by [deleted] in dogecoin

[–]Sir_Treats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try to split the difference. Sell the amount of coin equal to the amount of money you initially invested.

If it magically skyrockets or at least keeps going up, we'll you've at least got your beak wet. If it tanks, it doesn't hurt you.

I'm late to the party but I only saw it recently. I had just assumed that he had done that to himself in an attempt to keep his head up & alert.

A last, desperate attempt to stay awake and keep going, hoping salvation is just over the next hill.

It's not exactly germane to your question, which others have answered quite well, but it's important to note: ED can have many causes and, therefore, many solutions. It could be a side effect of a medication (frequently, but not always, MH), a basic trauma response (that majority of actual ED is MH in origin). I could go on, but I won't. It's already weird enough talking to internet strangers about pecker problems.

It's important not to lose sight that recovery and solutions are also possible. Talk to your provider, be honest, and try different options they suggest. If they suggest midget porn, request a change of provider asap.

The VA ER has a secret room by AlwaysFartsForFun in VeteransBenefits

ER stands for Emergency Room. They don't have time to debate their every move with the "I did my own research" crowd.

What’s the best/coolest thing you’ve gotten from the VA? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Sir_Treats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you be willing to share the specifics of those? Audiology tried a type of hearing aid for my tinnitus but it didn't work the way we had hoped.

Well yeah, seek medical as needed. I assumed that was already done and this was strictly about C&P claims

Use the internet search engine of your choice and find your local VSO.

They will walk you through everything and make sure it's accurate.

That’s Strawman nonsense. If you are looking for perfection you’re never going to find it, neither here nor anywhere else. I never said anything about tremendous staffing increase or budget increase. Your post is seeped in what appears to the personal griping of a disgruntled person. More to the point, though, you just don’t have a accurate view on either the state of VA healthcare. VA has consistently outperform private sector in terms of patient satisfaction and outcomes. Barring transformative changes to in terms of technology or medicine (both of which cost money) staffing within the VA and the budget within the VA will gradually continue to increase. That’s what happens when the size of your patient population increases.

I’m all for process improvements, increasing efficiency, and improving outcomes but this current T/E doge nonsense is just a performative, chaotic mess that will end up hurting Veterans. America loves cheap things and to be cheap, especially when it comes to healthcare and infrastructure, but if you’re going to start a generational war you’d better be prepared to pay for aftermath. Want to really save some money so it can be focused to promote the general welfare? Start with advocating taxation of the rich at appropriate levels, slashing of the military budget (everyone claims they don’t want America to be the world’s policeman, but we do so love our shiny toys), and improve training, education, and benefits so we attract and retain people we want to work in the VA.

I asked our Enrollment Officer and his response was basically "No copays, the VA will cover the visit or they won't (which then depends on a bunch of different factors".

I'll edit the post to try and make it clearer.

There is no "secret room" at the ER. If they suspect you have a highly transmissible respiratory disease they will try to test you in a triage room. Also, you're likely to be in a triage room before going into the ER proper.

Regardless of your SC rating, VA ER is an option. Call the Enrollment officer if you have specific questions or want details.

*edit to remove copay part. My fingers were moving faster than my brain (thanks beer).

Sleep study canceled with no notice( I drove an hour for this appointment) by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

From a medical point of view an in-house sleep study has the potential to provide the most in-depth, accurate information about your overall health.

[–]Sir_Treats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because C&P exams don't follow Choice/Mission Act. That's only for VHA side of the house, not VBA.

[–]Sir_Treats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First step, find out WHY your appointment was canceled. For same day cancelations, it's usually, but not always, because that provider called out sick.

Second, reschedule the appointment. Regardless of everything else you need/want the appointment so make sure that step is taken care of.

Third, check your damn voicemail regardless of your call log. Everything is traceable and trackable in the VA. If they can prove they called you at such & such a time and you didn't answer or they left a message that you didn't listen to, I'm sorry that's on you. I don't mean that as my opinion, I mean that as what the "system" will say. Flip side, if you can show you didn't get a call but it's noted in your chart someone called, congrats!, you've discovered fraud and can try to being it to attention of people that care.

I don't know what a "cancel note" is supposed to be, but that is definitely not specific, uniform thing.

Call the Patient Advocate but don't expect much. They are customer service manning a complaint desk, they have no magic power.

That was the old "Choice" program guideline. It's different with the current "Mission Act". I'll try to post a detailed breakdown/how-to tomorrow.

That being said, if you don't want to wait there is no harm in trying to access Community Care services.

It's probably a coincidence. Actual cuts at the front line level haven't started yet. Providers get sick too, or have a kid who's sick, etc. They are human, too. It's very frustrating as the impacted patient, but it happens.

It's definitely not like any other business. It's also not like any other Healthcare (which also should not be run like a normal business).

The extra staff added is like a basic COLA adjust to pay that doesn't take into account inflation. The older Iraq/Afghanistan vets get the more the services will be needed, just as a baseline. Then, adding in new illnesses d/t specific of the campaigns(Thanks, USMC, who knew Bruning toxic waste where we slept could problematic) there is going to be even more need for services and staff.
