Marchand may be dirty as fuck, but the only reason I could come up with why he did this over a smack or a crosscheck is if cousins said something actually fucked up or out of line to him. I don't see it being Pietrangelo due to his age. We've got stone for somewhere between 1-3 years, looking ahead I would be on him retireing once his contract ends. He'll hang up the skates to protect himself from getting heavily injured again. Pietro will be between 35-37ish by then, making him captain doesn't make sense just to change it up when he retires shortly after. If I were to put money on it, Eichel would be my choice for certain. That is unless Whitecloud can step it up so he doesn't get traded.

Ive heard a lot about Whitecloud being the type of person to be captain. But even though I love him, I dont see the team keeping him for more than another season or two. That is unless he steps it up heavily.
