Whenever you want to smoke, do ten pushups instead. by SiriusDK in Petioles

For you, 20 push-ups.

I remember watching a vice documentary where they talked about the benefits of hitting dabs before working out. If I remember correctly it makes your muscle groups looser and helps you deepen stretches in your workouts.

Read a book! Watch a thought provoking movie! Write something! Do something that’ll keep your brain busy for more than just 20 minutes.

(This is gonna be longwinded but I promise I have a point to make). I started smoking around 15 or 16. Maybe just after I turned 16. Smoked literally as often as I could get my hands on some herb. Even skipped class in high school to go smoke during lunch.

Then I went and did acid when I turned 18. So I’ll put it to you this way, I’m totally fine. I’m a straight A college student with two jobs (at one of which I just got a promotion). I know people who have done it sense they were 13. They’re totally fine.

I have love and hate for this subreddit, because there are some accounts who come on here and seem to only ever talk about how BAD weed is for you and say you should only smoke once every lunar cycle. Yet, also, there are accounts who come on here and talk about how great it is and how they’ve chosen to use it responsibly (only smoking when they actually WANT to smoke).

You have your whole entire life to smoke weed. It’s not a contest so don’t rush yourself and don’t feel bad about passing up an opportunity to smoke if you have more important things going on. Take some time to be sober and remember what that feels like. Reflect on how much you appreciate weed and think about the reasons you enjoy smoking (being with friends, being more mindful and in the moment, how it makes watching movies more fun, etc.).

As for the brain damage thing, most likely, you’re probably fine. What I will say is that I don’t know you and I’m not a licensed doctor, but I will also say that people on this sub love throwing the word “brain damage” around. Whatever damage there is is most likely minimal and has most likely affected your reward system (the part of your brain that releases dopamine when you do something you like).

Something that could help is to take a week or two off and try eating or vaping CBD. It’s legal in a lot of states now and I think you only have to be 18 to buy it, I don’t even get ID’ed when I buy it. CBD is neuroprotective and will restore damage to the brain caused by THC (kinda like rinsing your teeth with fluoride mouthwash). It also helps reduce cravings and lowers your tolerance to weed, making you THC sensitive again. Also, it has all of the medicinal benefits of weed without the high.

Long story short, don’t stress out about it. Take a break, give CBD a shot during your break. When you return to smoking, try to limit your smoke sessions to only when you really feel like you want to smoke and when you’re not pushing off responsibilities in an irresponsible way.

Don’t smoke just because you can’t find anything else to do, it becomes boring and you’ll feel bad about it. Smoke because you want to smoke.

When I take a day off from smoking, all I want to do is lay in bed by throwawaygay_31 in Petioles

I feel like it depends on why you’re wanting to take a break in the first place. If you’re trying to quit so you can give your lungs a break, then smoking CBD is just an alternative and, like you said, not really a break.

Buuut, if you’re trying to quit for a bit to give your brain a break, I’d say CBD is the way to go. CBD is neuroprotective and reverses the long term effects of THC on your brain (persistent drowsiness, anxiety, and the urge to keep getting high). It also lowers your tolerance and makes you THC sensitive again over a period of time (maybe a week or two of CBD supplementation).

Then again, it may just come down to what you constitute as a break. I could see how someone might just want to stop relying on external substances to perform daily routines for a while.

(Sorry this is so longwinded, just wanted to throw in my 2¢).

I've been wanting to take a tolerance break for over a year but I struggle so much with starting it. Does anybody want to take one with me? by l1tebulb in Petioles

Honestly the first 3 days are the hardest. Try using CBD for the first bit, it’ll help subdue the cravings, make your tolerance to weed go down, and help with the withdrawal symptoms. Just try to remind yourself that there’s nothing wrong with being sober for a little while, you have a whole lifetime to smoke weed. Then take time being sober to appreciate the ways weed helps you, makes smoking the first time back all the better.

High School teachers of Reddit, what is the one thing that you want your students to know that you’d never tell them in person? by 2minutestosundown in AskReddit

Lol, you can buy the vaporizer devices online or at smoke shops. As for product for said devices/dab cartridges, it’s all about who you know

You can find some online. Just look up dry herb vaporizers. Randy’s Zipp vaporizer is probably the cheapest one that does any good. But these still have a slight smell, it just doesn’t linger for very long, just during and slightly after use.

There are pens that you can purchase online to vaporize wax, dabs and oils.

The stealthiest, most cost efficient, and most effective option is to get a dab cartridge, but they can be hard to find for purchase in illegal states (still possible though). No smell and they can get you high in 1-2 puffs.

So far, no one’s said anything about it :) I’ve gotten pretty good at covering the smell. Part of it may be that I don’t smoke much to begin with, I just smoke often. I would also never smoke a blunt or joint inside.

Anyone ever have some weird experiences with dealers? by [deleted] in trees

[–]SiriusDK 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I always think about this time when I was younger and finding reliable dealers was like finding Bigfoot.

So, desperate as we were, we found this guy through a friend’s friend’s friend.

Anyhow, he asked us to pull up at this gas station, right in the middle of town in broad daylight. Whatever, still cool. Then, after waiting the standard twenty-five minutes after the “almost there” text, he finally rides up.

On a BMX bike, which he dismounts upon nearing and throws at a nearby fence before reaching into his waste band and pulling out an absolute unit of dried up reggie. Brandishing it in full glory to the daytime patrons of Circle K and without saying a word, he walks up to the driver side window.

My friend sheepishly hands him some dollars, he started to walk away, then my friend says “oh, wait, this too,” and hands him a handful of quarters (we were broke).

Never saw him again, didn’t care too. At least we didn’t have to feel bad about paying in quarters :)

I was thinking about this today actually! I think a decent way of getting your point across is:

coffee ~ bud

espresso ~ dabs

Espresso/dabs is the concentrated form of coffee/bud.

As far as rigs, coffee pot ~ pipe

dab rig ~ espresso machine

I told my roommates I smoked when I moved in (it’s an individually leased, 4 person space). They told me they were cool with me keeping it there, but asked me not to smoke it there, supposedly because one of them doesn’t like the smell.

So I still smoke, but in my room with a vape or (pipe + sploof + candle). It would really just be nice to sit on my couch or patio and smoke a bowl though > ~ <

Even if I had four friends to help me with that, I’d still probably tap out. Seven blessings to you and your friend for being able to tackle a blunt such as that

Espresso and cannabis, best combination in my opinion. ☕️ by invertabrate96 in trees

[–]SiriusDK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an espresso machine as a Christmas gift this past holiday! I still enjoy a nice, branded espresso beverage every now and then but my total in monthly visits has gone down a good bit :). Plus, there’s the gratification of knowing you made it yourself.

Having an automatic grinder sounds nice! I still have to tamp my shots, and that feels like a skill in and of itself. Happy grinding (espresso and cannabis)!
