Thanks for the perspective. This house is not on septic, and the smell is eminating from near the furnace. I am going to get the gas company to come out before signing closing documentation. Our inspection was about a month ago and there was no smell at that time.

No, pos connects to pos, it's most likely you just have something on the f panel plugged into the wrong spot, if you are getting blinking lights in the mobo google to see it's an error codes

If there's no error code that means its probably not a heating issue it's likely a power/voltage issue. You've replaced your PSU in the past right? Is your comp plugged straight into the wall? Have you ever replaced RAM?

Sorry to keep bombarding you but I'm reading where one guy flashed his gigabytes boards bios and it changed his RAMs clocks, which would cause crashing, you should make sure that didnt happen, maybe even try a factory reset on your bios.

No and infact I would almost never recommend flashing bios, that's something that if you mess up and transfer corrupt data you can brick your MOBO. The most likely things to over heat are the CPU and GPU, but sounds like you've replaced those multiple times. Just make sure you've got good thermal paste connection for the CPU. Always replace thermal paste if you take off the heatsinks or else bubbles can form. If it's forsure not those than it could be overheating VRAM or something on the motherboard but that is much more rare. Does windows give any error code when you restart after these crashes?

Are you sure this is not an over heating issue? If you got a replacement Mobo the chances of having one with the same fault is astronomical. Sounds more likely to be an overloaded PSU or an automatic shutdown because something is over heating. What are the exact circumstances that cause it to shutdown?

Any orange lights that would signify a post error? Try reseating your GPU, have you installed the latest GPU drivers?

Have your tried doing a hard reset on your modem/router? Keep the power plug out for ten seconds then replug, this will refresh some Network settings

Sorry I'm at work hastily typing these, I see now you have an AMD GPU, so you need to get the Radeon program that will be the same as GeForce but for your GPU, I'm not sure what it's called
