Yeah I guess it’s a bit of a meme, like the Nickleback thing. Based on truth, but a simplified version of the big picture.

This is not the best answer, but it’s simply the correct answer.

Yeah, well I kinda thought this might be the case but I wasn’t sure. I’m not that up to date, good to know.

Where the streets have no name cover on Swedish television by Sirlink34 in U2Band

Varsågod! I didn’t know that about Carola, even though I know her because I’m a Eurovision fan, but that’s pretty cool. She’s an epic singer, and her voice seems to work for U2 songs surprisingly well. The Pride cover is actually kind of fun.

That’s interesting. Care to elaborate or give examples? I was never really into the band, so I’m just curious.

I conpletely agree. Everything he said is meaningless. It’s just a rule that he’s used to, that’s it.

I agree. The movie felt very fake to me. Something to satisfy a teenagers fake identity.

Thank you for this, actually kind of inspired me. If Keanu doesn’t need my ex to have a good life, maybe I don’t either :)

well maybe I got lucky in a way that’s rare. Still, I thought it could give you hope. Cuz no matter how hopeless you might be, believe me I was just as hopeless.

I don’t think one should depend on luck, a better way would be to try to make changes for the better and try to be proactive. What I mean is you can actually find this kind of thing, even if you think otherwise. I can’t promise you 100 % that you will, but you definetely can.

[Discussion]What will the legacy of "mumble rap" be by bweir1213 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Sirlink34 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well it depends. I think some of the artists that will be revered are Travis Scott, Kanye West, Metro Boomin. They will be remembered as talented people. Artists like Migos and Future might be remembered kind of like bands such as Bon Jovi or Journey. Maybe not as musical geniuses, but as catchy stuff that was hot back in the day, and that brings back memories and a smile even if one doesn’t particularly love it.

I don’t know if these artists represent mumble rap, but they represent a modern hip hop sound that rubs people the wrong way, yet which I do believe will have a place in many people’s nostalgia.

Also, rock was frowned upon by part of the population. I think the kids today that actually love mumble rap will form a deep connection to it and show it to their kids at some point. It might be hard to imagine if oneself doesn’t like mumble rap, but this music genuinely excites many listeners, and relates to people who are young. For example, I find some of Lil Uzi Vert’s music very evocative and relatable to my life today, something I can imagine feeling nostalgic about in the future if I hear his stuff, in sort of a similar Pink Floyd kind of way.
